Worried about my chameleon

My chameleon has been very lethargic over the last few days. I know he's coming to the end of his casting, but his form is usually much better! He's off his food and he's just lying listlessly on the vine. It's the first time I've seen this unusual behaviour. His urate and poos are very good, no issues there. He let me lift him out of his vivarium this morning. He was sitting in his favourite place, my windowsill, for two hours. Now he's just moping again, totally disinterested in anything around him. Please help.

Are you going to re-evaluate and adjust your husbandry before getting a new chameleon? Not trying to be harsh or anything, but for one the all glass enclosures are not ideal and the one you have does not allow them to regulate their body temp due to the height.

Please fill out the below:

Chameleon Info:

• Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
• Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
• Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
• Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
• Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
• Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
• History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:

• Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
• Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
• Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
• Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
• Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
• Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
• Location - Where are you geographically located?

Here is the tank

That is too short for a chameleon. They like height and they have none with this tank. Haven’t we gone over this before?

I agree with @MissSkittles. As an adult for a male it’s a minimum of 4 feet. You want it more tall then long. Glass enclosures make it more likely for the cham to get RI.

As I mentioned before, I would re-evaluate your husbandry with someone knowledgeable on veileds and make adjustments as needed. If the living conditions may have led to the illness, it makes no sense to put another chameleon through that.

I think so from the pictures of the tank the previous cham was in. It looked like the same tank, I could be wrong though.

Hi. @Ithrbecks what you need is a reptibreeze x large. Not to expensive, generally good for a veiled chameleon. It does depend on the area they’re in though. But for areas that are at good humidity levels and ambient temps for a veiled, then please get a reptibreeze x large
