Im worried about my chameleon, I know he had MBD from when I purchased him at the pet store but recently ive noticed he has been grabbing his face alot. He also has been closing his eyes a lot during the day, they look like they bulge, and then sink in. His humidity is always between 40-80% His basking spot is at 90 and the rest of his tank is between 70-80. Im not sure what I can do to help this little guy he is only 7 to 8 months old

he doesn't like the carmera

Welcome to the forums. Your little guys arms are curved so he does or did have MBD. He might need some liquid calcium. Do you have a good chameleon vet? I would recommend cutting back on the D3 to twice a month and the vitamin A to once a month. What kind of vitamin A are you using? If you use Reptivite without d3 it has A in it so when you dust with that twice a month he's also getting some A. Also lightly dust your feeders and dont make them look like ghost. A larger variety and gut load would be good. I'm not sure about the Zilla light. In the past they were causing eye problems. Most here use the Reptisun 5.0.

I know he does. thats why we took him from the pet store:(. no experienced vet though... been searching. i will do as follows as per supplementation. the last 2 days he has slowed his eating habits considerably. and tends to have one eye closed during the day. ive ditched the zilla light and am getting and 18inch repti sun 5.0 as we speak. im hopeful that this helps.

ok Unfortunately the pet store in the area only carried the repti glo 5.0. 24 inch will this bulb be ok? i also bought a new calcium water conditioner. is this what you meant by liquid calcium? i have added 2 drops per fluid oz of water and have given it to him orally with a syringe. hes eyes / one eye are still closed. and have been for on and off for the last 2 days. anyone?

The Repti glo 5.0 will be fine. The liquid calcium that I was referring to is calcium gluconate. I get it from my vet but i think you can get it at the pharmacy.

kk, Yea i think one contains Calcium, Chloride, Calcium lactate. its for his h2o, just maybe give him a lil boost when hes not eating. I will acquire calcium gluconate tomorrow :) thanks so much

It sounds like the balance of calcium to the phos, D3 and vitamin A may still not have been corrected.

I'm on my playbook so I don't want to looking up...whats in the vitamin powder and other supplements you are using in the way of vitamin A, D3, phos, and calcium? Please be specific...name the exact ingredients please.

What specific leafy greens do you use?
