Would a Terrarium be better for me?

I live in Texas and it gets REALLY hot. Our house's thermostat broke so we pretty much rely on AC units that aren't always consistent with their function, so would it best to maintain RH in a terrarium and take care of a chameleon in there? If so, could you provide me with some sites that may help me make a terrarium? All help is appreciate! Thank you so much! :D

if your house temp is in the 70's(or it could be less or a little warmer) you should be fine with a sceen cage. you can hang your own thermometer ad humidistat in the cage to monitor the temps and humidity. Many members on here are from texas and they use screen enclosures.

It'll get too hot :(
So where can I learn about building a terrarium? I have the Chameleon handbook so I'll definitely re-read building terrariums in there but is there anything else I should study?

What part of TX? I live in El Paso, TX and as of right now I have a small floor heater in the room so my cham wont get too cold at night. In the summer when the temperatures so up I can easily turn the ceiling fan on or the floor fan. Right now my female cham is in a glass terrarium and my male is in a screen cage. I'm in the process of making my own screen cages so when they get bigger they can get moved into them. I do plan on taking them outside when it gets warmer, but not in the 100 degree temp in the middle of the day.

I live in Houston, but we only have one small AC unit in my room right now. I recently went up there though and it's 64 Degrees Fahrenheit. (Which is a bit out of the ordinary.)
Although My little sister and I have a closet that leads to both of our rooms and she sometimes opens her door and it makes it hotter. My main concern is when summer roles around that AC unit will break down and in since my room is upstairs it'll get REALLY hot.

What about a cool mist humidifier?

Just curious, wouldn't a screen cage be better when its hotter? terrariums hold heat more. So i was thinking what if you have a screen cage, a misting system and a humidifier to cool things down?

I kind of figured if I used a terrarium it'd be easier to maintain the temp in there despite whatever is going on around it. Not sure if it works that way though..
