I'm lucky to not catch the house on fire while making a bowl of cereal, lol.

But since you seem to know what you're doing and as long as it makes a mist, I don't see why it wouldn't work. I would be worried about how much noise it makes though. =)
 
Oh okay thanks.. I didn't think about the noise.. I figured all diaphragm pumps would make the same noise???
 
Lots of things work, and lots of breeders use other things, they put together in order to save lots of greeeeeen paper.

They might, they might not. I'm sure you know a lot more about them I ever will, lol. Try maybe looking for product reviews on it, maybe sending the company who sells it an e-mail asking about the noise level?
 
with the amount of the products ordered online + tax + shipping from probably more than one places, as well as various accessories from local hardware stores + tax, you are most deffinately going to spend more on the project than you would a MistKing that you are guaranteed full satisfaction for. many people have made homemade misting systems, only for it to malfunction or break down quick, or just not be satisfaction to them. just go with a mistking, an ultimate setup is about 189.00 which includes your pump, 3 nozzles, all your hook up joints, a ball valve, tubing, wire cutters, a digital seconds timer that works flawlessly and on a backup battery power, it will continue working even after a power outage. it also comes with 3 mounting brackets for sturdy nozzle holds. this is the best deal and the best product you can get
 
i also want to add, that you can remove parts of that system and downgrade to different parts to save money. with premium nozzles (not zip drip) you can save about 20$, you can choose not to get mounting brackets, and you can choose not to get a time, you can choose how many brackets and nozzles you want as well. which is an awsome thing if you are on a budget
 
Also pro products sells the pro-mist for 120. They don't have the mounting brackets because he said for their systems they didn't really need them. I have been extremely happy with them. I have to agree with what vieled said, you will spend every bit of 120 dollars getting all the supplies to diy and then may not even be happy. For me, I consider it to be one of the best "cham" purchases I have made.
 
im not putting down pro mist, ive never had experience with them. but mistking offers full guarantee. the product has reputable life, and the parts have great tollerence to. the system is virtually silent, and for more parts you are getting a great deal. also as you know, mistking is one of our sponsors and marty will assist you with your every need.
 
I guess I'll be ordering a Mistking, but I have a controller that can tell it to turn on at a certain temp and certain times of the day that I have invested close to $1000 in.. So I'd like to make use of that.. I really only need maybe the zip drip addition, the pump and the misting nozzles.. Thanks for the help people..
 
Not certain what you mean by guarantee, if you mean warranty pro products warrants their products for three years.
 
Fixing a Diaphragm pump is pretty easy for me so a guarantee means little to me.. I was basically wondering the pressure needed for a 3 head minimum misting nozzle system.. My new cage will be a beast that's the only way I know how to do it,,,lol..
 
I would like a DIY too and have thought of different ideas... I dont want to spend $200 for a mist system, thats more than the cost of the pet that goes in the cage lol :cool:

I build saltwater reef systems for a living and thought I might try my hand at a misting system and then a heating system for the misting system.. This price isn't bad at all either..

I must have over paid for my ambanja cham at $250,,,,lol.. I'm still searching for screen that I don't have to buy at $75 for 4ft by 100ft for the roll..
