xray-eggs??

Thank you for the explanation. I added a correction to my earlier post. But, just a question, if there is a clutch of larger eggs developing in the lower abdomen can it push the ovary forward?

Mmm, not really because they are anchored to the back up near the kidneys pretty well. They can move a little, but not very much. And you wouldn't be able to tell that's what it was regardless because of their soft tissue density. The oviducts however can distend and move significantly to accommodate eggs.

in person, when i looked at the xray, i could see small ghost like eggs similar to the first picture you provided. there wasnt many at all that i could see. the vet asked me to come back in two weeks for another xray. if she has any eggs, she doesnt have many.

Yeah radiographs don't transcribe well through pictures. In a few weeks if they're eggs they should be easier to identify.

what about uncalcified eggs ferret? developing embryos.
not at all trying to scare the OP, but when we lost my ex's first veiled after a spay surgery, thats all she was filled with. she was obviously bound because they didnt develop. this is what makes me nervous about this chameleons situation. x-rays showed very faint circles, but she was packed with over 75 embryos. and not a single one with a developing shell.

Weird! That's very unusual, although having a known calcium deficiency like this one does makes that at least plausible. It would be impossible to tell that on an x-ray since it would be the same soft tissue density as everything else. But I don't think that kind of thing happens very often.

Hi @ferretinmyshoes and @kinyonga my brother adopted this beautiful girl (before consulting me) 2 weeks ago, well everything was wrong for her and she´s unfortunately packed with eggs. Also she kept hanging her leg all the sudden, and that´s when we went to vet asap. The Xray shows she has MBD and her left leg is already broken due poor bone density. Now checking the x-ray, she looks pretty full with eggs and the big question is in what stage you think she is? Already close to laying or would it take another week, few week before she should start digging? She´s giving liquid calcium and I´m bit afraid her bone will be too weak for the digging process and even worse her front leg wont be healed before the digging process and not to speak about the large clutch she will lay. Any thoughts and advice from your side? Already many thanks.

This is her X-ray

I'm not that familiar with veiled egg development hopefully @jannb will have some answers. I have to assume you are treating the MBD in every way possible with help from your vet.

Poor beautiful lady. :( That looks like a ton of eggs. @jannb or @JacksJill may also have some knowledge to answer your question.
Good one, thanks (y)

And she´s such a sweet and friendly girl. Last Friday we made the x-ray and she´s already moving her toes, gripping and using her leg. All seems a bit too quick for me, but no expert in healing time for broken bones with chameleons. I really hope, she pulls through the egg laying process, his little girl, called her Lucky. After seeing her bone density and think she´s really lucky, a few week more with that terrible owner and she would have suffered a terrible ending 🥺😢😭
But, she´s not safe yet 😔
