Yawn?

What does it mean when a Panther Chameleon opens his mouth really wide and puffs out his throat when he closes his mouth, is this just a yawn or is he making faces at me?

It usually means "Don't come near me, I'm a big scary animal."

It could be like above, or it sounds like he might be 'popping' a shed. Mine open their mouths really really wide, puff out their throats and everything else, and then wiggle really aggressively! It looks like they are seizing sometimes!

Scared the crap out of me first time mine did that, I had no idea their mouth could open so wide.
