Yawning Cham?

Hi all,
I've noticed Marty has been yawning recently.. Although this looks so cute is it normal behavior?
I've caught him a few times with his mouth held open while basking too. Is this maybe from temps being too high?

His viv temps are normal but surely where he basks is going to be over that.

chameleons do yawn in the morning but having their mouth open can be a sign of over heating or a respitory infection. If you fill out the form people will be able to tell you if it's a likely infection or just too hot

He's stopped doing it more recently, after I rearranged his viv and now he's lower away from the light. I'll keep an eye out for if he does it when it's cooler too tho.

Yeah, I switched from a 40w to a 25w and now Smeagol doesnt do
it anymore either.

My Jackson eats a meal worm then opens his mouth as wide as possible like he's stretching his jaws

mine used to do it while basking( guess he was letting out heat) but now ive put him in a bigger tank and the basking spot is abit lower hes stopped doing it at first i was worried that it was IR so i spoke to the breeder and he reassured me which was great

actually jacksons have been known to yawn.
