Zilla uvb bulb

I tried the zilla bulb and it was junk after two weeks of using it. went back to the reptisun 5.0 liner bulb and hasn't failed me yet. never buying another zilla uvb ever again

Trying to get away from the coiled compact reptisun bulbs and picked one of these up are they any good? It's this one

I haven't heard much if anything good about these. Take it back. Amazing how many products the big box pet suppliers choose to carry are junk...just like their husbandry information. Its like they are deliberately trying to do everything wrong even when there are good products available. Probably get incentives from the manufacturers. Its just amazing how bad their corporate attitude ends up being.

Sills bulbs crap out on the uvb early so I wouldn't recommend them.

I like the reptisun but get the 18" T8 15 watt bulb

Then you can get a "under the counter" light fixture from Walmart for $10 and just put that UVB in there. Home Depot has them too but there $12 there.

The fixture is made from GE and looks identical to the zila one you linked above. I just bought 2 of them for my new cham enclosure I'm building.

1 fixture for the uvb and 1 for a plant grow light.

If you decide to go with a t5 bulb you will have a harder time finding a fixture for it that matches the watts as the bulb. That's why I like the 15w T8 reptisun bulb... that's the same size and watts as your basic fixtures.

Just make sure you take that cheesy white plastic bulb cover off as that cover will block most of the uvb
