....done w/ a deep thick english accent. I pulled the trigger w/ the fine folks at The Panther Company. I spoke w/ Vincent this afternoon and picked out a handsome young male from "Vader's" last clutch.

Luke Skywalker will be packing his bags in Sacramento and making the trip to Tampa next Monday. He'll be arriving here via the Millenium Falcon (ok Fed Ex Overnight) on Tuesday morning.

I saw these guys posted for a few weeks, and just couldn't hold out until spring. I'm very excited. Thanks to all for answering the numerous questions over the past couple of months. He'll be in an 18x18x36 DIY for these few cooler months here in Tampa, and then outdoors in his 6'x6'x3' enclosure this spring. :D

As soon as I fell in love the his Sire, I asked the breeder what the "Vader" name was in reference to, and it was because his head looked like Darth Vader's helmet. I had to go w/ the Star War references. You know my back yard: Skywalker Ranch. Future female: Princess Leia. etc....

BTW, I have no idea what I did to have this thread show up in Enclosure and Supplies. I thought I started it in General Discussions.:confused::confused:

How exciting! Luke looks so sweet and precious. I'm looking forward to seeing many pictures of him growing up. :)

Thanks Jann, by no means was he an impulse buy, but i definitely couldn't hold out until spring. Guess i got my indoor enclosure about 12 months before i expected to. LOL!!!!

Is Jack (said w/ a French accent) a Nosy Be?

Yes he is, but he is named after the inspector in the Pink Panther movies (still with a french accent).:D

Never know when you might need something inspected. Love it.

Getting ready to run to the Depot for few things. Getting the DIY dialed in for tuesday morning's arrival.

Well I watched tracking all last evening, and right on time here comes Fed Ex knocking at my front door. He arrived, and looked great. He's just checking out his new digs, and seeing how I did. In less than 6hrs he's already figured out where everything is. I haven't seen him eat, but we went to lunch, and I think he did too.

We saw a tinge of blue a couple times on him yesterday, but mostly he was just getting used to things. We saw him eat, drink, and figure out where the warm 82 degree warm spot was / is. Funniest thing he did though was right about 9:15pm he just got up from his basking spot and started exploring big time through out his enclosure. He was cruising around w/ more authority that we'd seen all day. He was on a mission. On a mission to find a sleeping spot. It was so darn cute. Vinny must have had lights out in CA around 6 or 7 Cali time.

He's very handsome! Clouseau is already showing tiny bits of blue around his face.

When did you say you got Clouseau? After looking at your Clouseau Album, I wonder if they're from the same clutch. Luke Skywalker was born July 15-25th.

I got him on Nov 15th. When I saw that you had gotten a Nosy Be from the Panther Company, I emailed them and they said they are indeed brothers but Clouseau hatched out more towards the end of July beginning of August.:D Clouseau puts himself to bed right around 6-630pm. He got all puffed up today when I opened the door to give him his crickets.

Luke is a good looking boy. Glad to see him settling in- I bet he cannot wait for his outdoor enclosure in the Spring! :) My panther loves his- that FL sunshine does them wonders!

Go East Coast!!!!!!!

I don't think Luke is yet on eastern time. I woke up at 9am like clock work and made his way to his basking area. I think I'll slowly tweek his on/off to our schedule.

Luke's first shed....

It started on one little foot, and then just went crazy. Luke had his first shed today. Seems like he enjoyed his little "thanksgiving meal". Wifey thought that part was a little weird. You have to realize she's never probably seen let alone touched a reptile before now. He really used the fake vine to rub it all off. I also made a nice little bracket for a Glad mini round feeding cup. I made it out of the black conductor of a piece of extra 12/3 electrical cable I had in the shed. He didn't care much for the mini sunnyD feeder I made before his arrival. He definitely liked the Glad mini. After nipping a very stressful hole in the screen to run the dripper tube thru, I eventually moved it to a second location. Today I added a longer piece of tube and ran it towards the back where its a bit more protected.

Well, i finally found ur post, and Ur Boy is looking nice... Had change rom on my phone lately that is a pain getting everything back they way i like it... I subscribe now.. I should be getting notification. Keep it up

He a riot at bedtime. He lets ya know when its time for bed. He starts wondering all alone his vine, and thru the plants just going back in forth for about 5-10 mins I guess (i'm not quite sure cause you kind of go into a trance state watching chameleons). Then he works his way down about 3/4's of the way, head first, tail curled, all tucked up in the crook of a branch and the main stalk of the schefflera. He's definitely on his own schedule. He's going to be after sundown. Wakes up around 8. He's right in front of a window, even most of the time the louvers are tilted, he can tell if its sun up or sun down. Anyone think he's on mother nature's clock?
