I went to my local reptile store this weekend to pick up some more Bug Burger and Superload. Turned out the Bug Burger they had on the shelf had expired in 2014 :cautious:. They gave me a free bag because of course they're just going to throw it out but I'm wondering whether it's safe to use. Is...
As MissLissa said, each cham seems to have their own likes and dislikes. My 7 month old male panther loves Dubia, crickets, silkworms and stick bugs. He's not fond of hornworms at all and won't touch super worms. I tried BSF larva and he didn't even seem to recognize that they were food so I let...
I'm having a custom cage built that's 36" wide so I'll need to buy a new light when I move my male Panther, Cameron into the new cage. Right now I have the 24" Quad Tropic Blaze fixture from LYR which is great. But for the new cage I already have a 36" T5 HO fixture from my reef tank hobby that...
I picked it up at a recent reptile expo in my area, but I think a lot of reptile and terrarium companies sell them. Something like this from lllReptile should be similar: http://www.lllreptile.com/products/243-large-sandblasted-grapewood you just don't get to pick out a specific piece when...
My 5 month old male panther is exactly the same. He started doing this a couple of weeks ago. He's in the Dragonstrand Atrium cage which seems like it has plenty of room for him at the moment, but he just wants out. His cage is in my office and I work from home a few days a week, so I bought a...
I've noticed too that when I place silkworms on a branch or leaf they tend to stay frozen in place, sometimes with half their body up in their air. I think it's normal, I'm assuming they're trying to avoid being seen and eaten. I hand feed them and hold one half of the body and then they wriggle...
There's one in Manchester, NH on Sept 27th, the New England Reptile Expo. I usually go to that one and it's not bad. I've never been to one in MA though, I didn't even know there was one (and I'm in Boston).
I felt the same way about roaches but I decided to get some dubia to see if my little guy would even eat them. The first week or so I was terrified of dropping one on the floor and would only touch them with tongs. After seeing them for a little while up close now though, I have to...
I use this one from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003E7AZQA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 So far (~2 years) it works just as it should.
Welcome to the forum! This is definitely the place to be if you want to learn from some very helpful and friendly experts :) She's adorable by the way!
If you don't mind a couple of inches of overhang on the front and/or back, you can check ikea for kitchen cabinets if you have one near you. They have 20" deep cabinets. I bought one for $10 in their clearance section, bought matching doors for $20, and a piece of MDF board that I painted and...
It's the same tubing that comes with the Mist King systems; I bought the starter system from LLLreptile and just ordered about 20 feet of extra tubing (they sell it by the foot). I've read that you can get the same tubing at the big box home improvement stores but I'm not sure if they carry black.
