Your best bet is going to be to build or buy a screen cage that one is too small for him even if he is blind. You will want to remove the dirt and the chance of him eating dried crickets is not likely at all, they only usually eat things that have movement. He has to be eating some way if he is...

Also if he is not able to see I personally would remove the soil the chance of him accidently eating some of the substrate while trying to feed is a pretty likely situation...
When worms are to the point that they are vomited it is normally a pretty serious case but with proper medication and treatment he should be okay, Like stated it is normal for him to go off feeding while being wormed especially with it being a heavy parasite load. Chances are good he will...
Yes, should also of mentioned that I would have an appointment at a good reptile vet before taking him on chances are he is wild caught with the additional problems of internal parasites, dehydration, the burns you referred to, Theres always a lot to consider when taking in rescues.

Some of the swelling has gone down but its still abnormally large
Well took Rio for a second opinion today, the first vet decided it was an abscess/tumor and thought it just needed drained out but I disagreed with the vet on this one they did nothing to diagnose that there was any fluid or such in there just wanted to slice into him so I decided against...
