Age
hey there,
I'm no expert, as I got my Jackson Chameleon when it was just 3 weeks old from a friend who decided to drop her off as an unexpected gift back in April. She (I think it's a she anyway) is still super small at about 4 months. About the size of my index finger!
Yes, we've got a basking lamp for her.
Perhaps it's just a growing spurt or shedding time.
Just want to make sure she is taken care of properly. I'm new to this.
She's now about 4 months old :)
Tomorrow I will fill out that info.
Thanks guys!
Hey all,
So I've been a Jackson's chameleon owner since April now.
I don't think my girl is thriving in her cage and I'm worried she's not going to make it.
We've been feeding her solely on fruit flies since we got here at 3 weeks of age (which is very small for someone not familiar...
Hey all,
My Jackson's Chameleon ate her first meal worms on Sunday afternoon!
She gulped the first one down right off my palm with no problem. The second one was a bit of a struggle for her, as she kept her mouth open and seemed to be having a hard time getting the meal worm down. I was...
Bought the little dripper, but not really sure how we should put it in/on the cage? Any suggestions?
I live in Ventura County, and it is SUPER DRY in the summer. Spraying down the chameleons cage every couple of hours is getting to be too much work!
Does the Little Dripper work well? How...
What type of water should I be misting my chameleon with? I've been told by the pet store to use distilled water or bottled water.
Wouldn't regular tap water suffice? Thoughts?
Hi everyone!
Thanks for the info.
I'll keep doing research and try to ensure my little cham thrives :)
So far, the little guy/girl eats a good portion of fruit flies daily.
I'll try putting a piece of fruit in the cage so the fruit flies will congregate there.
Baby Jackson Deaths
Just seeing on here that Baby Jackson's seem to die within the first few months.
Is there any specific reason for this?
Just got a Jackson Cham baby. He's now 4 weeks old. I got him last weekend, and wasn't expecting him, so I've done TONS of research in the last week!
Miss Lily,
A friends friend had babies and for some reason he got one for us. I had no idea until he arrived and handed it to my daughter. She thought it was a toy!
We had to run out and get all the stuff.
He's eating fruit flies and pinhead crickets pretty well, so that's good. And I...
Thanks again
I do have him in a screen cage.
I've done tons of research on these guys in the last week. Just wanted to get forum members opinions. We got him as an unexpected gift!

So question about the cage...
Not sure if mine was put together properly, as the tiny fruit flies and pinhead crickets can escape from the front door area on both sides. I've been taping the two areas up and removing the tape when I need to get into the cage, but this is quite a chore...
Thank you
Appreciate the feedback.
I actually took out the stuff I had on the bottom, and put down paper towels earlier. Don't know how the little dude can hunt for the small fruit flies and pinhead crickets when they burrow down in there!
Hi all,
Just got a 3 week old Jackson chameleon last week, and want to make sure he sticks around for a while!
So many interesting topics on here, and so many opinions!
For Jackson chameleon owners -
Do you leave the red light on at night as the pet store advised?
What type of system...
