Haven't update this in a while, if a mod could rename this thread to "Kamil the Sambava" that would be great :) Since the last update he's shed, he's getting a bit more comfortable standing on me (sometimes) and his red and yellows really come out on his PJs. He is coming up to 9 months now so...

    how to clean ????

1 or 2 times a month when he is free roaming I dilute some white vinegar with hot water and spray down the whole enclosure. I leave it a few minutes for it to soak in and then spray down with warm / hot water to make sure all the vinegar gets cleared out again. Does a good job of removing all...

    New to chameleons, bit nervous...

Just to echo everything that brownie has said to you really :) He's cold blooded so once you get his basking spot up to the right temp that should really perk him up. Plastic vines are okay, there's no problem using them. Live plants are preferred as they also help keep the humidity. On your...

I have an idea for an invention.... who is a GOOD reptile company to contact?

Lots of people have ideas, its making them happen that is the hard part. I cant see a company giving you any money for it unless you get it patented. You need to make a prototype to get some interest from an investor / kickstarter or similar.

Help me! Half his head has fallen off!

It would be a good idea to fill out the help form so that everybody can help you get your husbandry spot on going forward :), just copy it into your next reply.

When to feed reptivte, calcium to panther Cham.

He won't get a full portion of either if you give both at the same time. I dust without d3 every day but Saturday. Then each Saturday I alternate reptivite or calcium with d3 :)

    What went wrong?

The mould is because the walls aren't insulated enough and your room is very humid, as the wall gets cold it condensates. You can minimise this by increasing the temperature or by increasing the ventilation. That's why the mould is behind your cabinets, there's no air movement down there.

Help !! Stuck shed? New shed ? Won't eat

You shouldn't be dusting with D3 every day. Supplements should be calcium WITHOUT D3 every feeding, with D3 twice a month and a multivit twice a month. You dont want to have any lights on at night and make sure you check the temp of the basking spot :) Hopefully the shed will clear up with...

This site has a pretty good explanation http://www.uvguide.co.uk/lightingsurveyintro.htm It also refers to research undertaken here: http://www.testudo.cc/ The extract on the further reference reads: Previously I had found a site that showed some of this information This was a while ago, if...

Q: about T5 vs T8 vs regular linear - everyone comment, please.

Hi, Here is a conversation with responses from Arcadia John on another forum I am on in response to a nearly identical question: Personally I think the Arcadia bulbs are great and like how active john is on the various forums, there is lots of good information on their website and they...

    Rear leg disorientation

That isnt a true comparison as the UV produced by the sun and UV bulbs is not the same, they have different proportions of the UV spectrum in different strengths. So while the UVB may be only a small dose compared to natural daylight, the other parts of the spectrum can be too strong for our...

    Lighting & Misting Scheduling...

If you have the lights coming on at 5am in the summer, he will probably be asleep by 3pm, 2 hours before you give him his second opportunity to drink and 5 hours before the lights go out.

Is my setup okay for a young panther?

The plants to me they look like Madagascar Jasmine and Ivy. The jasmine is native to madagascar and thrives in the same conditions as panthers, high humidity, mid 70s, indirect sunlight and misting, therefore it is something they should commonly meet in the wild. I am intending to add one to...
