Realized I never actually uploaded any pictures of my vivariums. I would love some input on them, assuming there is anything that is glaringly wrong. I know they're a little low; however, I don't have a piece of furniture that can get them any higher. I'll be looking for something soon though...
Just had a big breakthrough with Charlemagne! I had a couple prepared super worms out from having to manually feed Charlize, so I figured i'd see if Charlemagne would show any interest. Up until now he's never shown any interest in the worms, so I figured it was a long shot. I picked one out and...
Quick update: Even thought it's only been one day Charlize's eye already looks better! Some of the green coloration has returned to it and she seems to be able to consitently keep it open now. Her energy level seems to have raised a bit as well. She still hasn't noticably eaten, but she's...
They did not flush or attempt the clean the eye in anyway. They said that her pupil looked fine, and that there isn't any kind of obvious discharge so we're likely catching it early. Hopefully after a couple days of settling in she'll start to eat naturally. If she doesn't she said I could also...
Turns out the vet actually ended up with an opening this afternoon, so we just got back. They said she has some kind of minor infection, likely conjuctivitis, and gave us an antibiotic for her. They said she appeared somewhat dehydrated, but otherwise realtivly healthy. At this point the main...
So, while stopping by a local pet store to pick up some stuff for Charlie I noticed this little lady. She's a female Jackson's Chameleon, not sure how old. She was being kept in a very small glass enclosure with nothing but a single vine for her to climb on. The temperature was about 60 under...
Ok, awesome, that's what I wanted to hear. I'm trying to keep a level head but every time something seems a little off my internal alarm goes haywire
He is very young. His tail is also curled up. Like I said, it's almost as if he was just laying normally, just upside down. Granted I have no idea if he actually sleeps like that through the night, but I have seen him doing it a few times recently when waking him up in the morning. He's still...
I've noticed that my Chameleon has been sleeping upside down the last two nights. He looks just as he does while basking, however he's upside down on the underside of one of his vines. Is this abnormal or something to be concerned about?
The viv is not on eye level, should it be? After reading RayBomb's post I get the impression that they don't like to be looked down on, in the literal sense. Or, is there another reason you ask?
His cage is going to be very full. I'm waiting on a local store to get some Ficus that I ordered in...
Thanks! I'm actually not sure what the gender is. I just posted in the ID forum asking at which age you can generally tell a gender. I'm very curious to know, I just tend to default to "he" (likely because I am male).
Title says it all. Just got a little guy (just gonna us 'him' for now) and I'm eager to know the gender. He's very small, so I'm assuming quite young. Not sure if it takes a while before you can tell or not.
So, I see a lot of people talking about super worms on here. I've read a number of care guides as well, all of which mentioned super worms being a good addition to your Chameleon's diet. However, friend of my who has owned Chams before told me I should never feed them Supers. He told me that...
Hi everyone, despite one brief thread I'm new to these forums, as well as owning a Chameleon. I've raised a handful of different reptiles throughout my life, including Bearded Dragons. Geckos, and an Iguana; however, I've always wanted a Chameleon. Chameleon's are probably one of my top three...
