Fecal Test Postive for Trichomonas Protozoa

My 8 month old (108g) ambilobe came back positive from his first fecal test. I've had him for about 4 weeks. The only reason he went in was for a general exam, so no other health issues that I'm aware of. The vet is recommending metronidazole (flagyl)...is that a good first line of attack...

    Insensitive People :'(

I read your other post and broke my heart. Sorry for your loss. I have had my boy for a month and have a stong emotional attachment already. Some will view it as why get attached to something that isnt furry and cuddly, or that live short lives. Hope you find those in your life that can...

Quick question about housing dubias and silks

My dubias bred after 4 weeks with no special setup at room temp of 75'ish. I do have a heat mat on the plastic container but it can get pretty hot so I only plug it in if temps drop significantly and only when I am home. Thermostat highly recommended. Leaving them alone is key from my limited...

    68 grams at 7 months

I have one of Primo ' s offspring as well. Jaeger is 8 months and I have had him a few weeks. He'll be going to the vet for a general health check tomorrow and I should get a weight on him, I'll share once I get it. Very awesome disposition and his colors are coming in nicely.

How to transport a chameleon to the vet

I'll be taking my 8 month ambilobe to the vet monday, it'll be his first visit for a routine checkup since I got him a few weeks ago. He is about 12" long. Any suggestions on what to transport him in? The vet is about 10 minutes from my house, so it's luckily a short trip in my case. I...

What reptile can live perfectly in this enclosure??!

Your right, I re-read my post and it was a judgemental statement. Flux, sorry about that. I respect that everyone has an opinion and encourage that people feel comfortable to speak those; right, wrong, or indifferent. I don't want to come off arrogant or jugemental, it was a human mistake...

What reptile can live perfectly in this enclosure??!

I would pass if I did not already have a pet in mind, but that's just me. For the fish I run two good sized filters pumping over 800 gallons an hour through the tank an hour. I clean one a month and keep my biological media well established in the process....it's the way I prefer to care for...

What reptile can live perfectly in this enclosure??!

You did post that you didn't want fish but guess you would have to....so that implies impulse to fill a void. My best answer is a feeder tank or turn it into a vivarium with a plant the goes above the top of the tank to let your little guy free range in the house for short periods of time if...

What reptile can live perfectly in this enclosure??!

I gotta be honest here. What you're doing is backwards thinking. You should want an animal, not aquire a free tank and feel a need to fill it. Why not use it for raising some feeder insects for your cham? Get some wood and screen from the hardware store to make a cheap lid. : ). I have a...

    Orange gutload

I used oranges this week and when my guy chomped a cricket this morning one cricket squirting like you would not believe. It was so gross I naturally watched him eat the rest...but nothing else topped the one. I'm using apple and dry cricket feed this week as well. I need to get some greens...

    Who has the answers?

I have quite a bit more research to do in this area, but one of the things I watch for is if the cham is expelling heat by puffing up and opening his mouth like a yawn. Its normal but i dont think should be excessive. And of course taking into account the distance of the basking spot to the...

    New member! Many questions...

I have my mistking setup on my 18x18x36 screen cage with paper towel at 4 misting at 90 seconds a go. I don't have a drain system currently and I have zero issues with water outside of the enclosure. I also have a live plant in the enclosure so it helps. The paper towels do get a good soaking...

    Who has the answers?

My panther flattens and leans to the side displaying super dark coloration when I have him ouside under natural sun light. They're soaking in the goodness. But 95 seems a bit on the high side in my opinion. I use a 75 bulb with a dome that has the ability to adjust the temps up or down. I...
