my chameleon sounds a lot like yours, he doesnt like coming out of the cage, but once he is out he is fine. stick are out of the question for me, he gets so terrified by them he will go crazy. he doesnt like my hand intruding either, and will bite, but it is not as bad as the stick. i usually...
My cham recently shedded, and a lot more colour has been showing lately!
i was so excited i had to take a pic of him right away.
he is about 6-8 months old, i have yet to name him.
in the second picture, it was necessary to take a pic of him sleeping. he absolutely hates it when i put...
i personally dont use a dripper, just mist. i have never actually seen my cham drink, but i know he is drinking when i am not around because he shows no signs of dehydration and his feces looks fine. im sure that if you have the dripper going, your cham will see it and have a drink.
also if...
i have a male veiled who is quite the nasty little guy.
puffing and hissing is necessary for even the slightest of movements.
the only thing he doesnt get mad about is feeding time.
My little guy is like this too. he is about 6-7 months and is completely fine with hand feeding, but if i try to put my hand near him so he can climb on to my hand, he will hiss and bite. sticks are quite terrifying to him also.
If he decides to be a little nicer later on today, i will take...
My chameleon is quite aggressive for his age, (6-7 months) and certainly does not like leaving his cage. he will back away and be shy and hide in difficult places when i put my hand in. when i put something other than my hand, such as a stick for him to climb out on, he will puff up and hiss and...
i admit, the first couple weeks of owning a cham, crickets were a little creepy. after a few weeks, i didnt mind them. i no longer have any problems handling the insects, worms, etc. so long as i was my hands afterwards.
i feed a variety of feeders, but i find it easier to just put the supplements with the crickets.
i take him outside weather permitting, but he does not have a proper screened enclosure outside so he sleeps inside and spends most of the day under a light.
the brand of supplement i am using...
hi all, i recently got a new chameleon (veiled) and im not exactly sure how much and how often i should be giving him vitamin supplements.
i have calcium (d3)
calcium (no d3)
and a multi vitamin.
when i give him these supplements i am heavily dusting 1 cricket with desired supplement...
i have a similar problem, but whenever i enter the room, he scrambles up to the tallest vine at the back of the enclosure. i tried using a stick, but he is the most scared i could have imagined and bit the stick multiple times. it would be difficult to remove the entire vine that he goes on when...
doesnt bite, no, but i havent really taken him out of the cage much as i havent had him long. when i purchased him, i met the breeder and the cham had some very nice colours and was very friendly in the stores enclosure. he wasnt shy at all then. i cant wait till he becomes less timid :)
Got this new veilded a couple days ago. im super excited! he's still quite timid, and runs away from me.
any suggestions for names?
im not sure how to make these smaller. sorry.
also, is it normal for these guys to be super timid and show darker colours for the first few days in his new...
i am glad that other people did not see their cham's drinking either, when they first got them. i have had my cham for 3 days now, was a little worried about his drinking. :D
