I have a funny story to share in this ongoing egg-watch saga. Earlier today I was out running some errands and my phone dinged to let me know that the camera set on Claudia's cage had picked up activity in the laying box. Excitedly, I opened up the camera app and checked in only to see a huge...
I'll definitely take some pictures in a little bit. I'm going to change out the paper towels after I'm done working. It's a disaster, haha. Had a bunch more eggs to pluck out of the cage this morning. I've lost count of how many there are now. Unfortunately, I did lose one moth, so I'm down to...
Well, I went for it and I am happy to say that I have successfully bred hornworms/hawk months!
I started with a typical hornworm pod and when my cham decided to stop eating for a week - a week where it was in the 90s here - I had all of these hornworms growing and nothing to do with them. So...
There really isn't a way to get a definite age, but since you said she's still totally green I'd wager she's under 6 months old. When they mature, females will develop mustard yellow spots and blue coloring, so that's something to go off of, at least.
I'm not entirely sure how old my cham...
I do believe we've got this whole drinking thing down, now. She's been happily and eagerly letting me give her droplets of water from the syringe since the day I posted this thread originally. I am so pleased! I've seen her drink more in a few days than I have since I got her :D
There have been a few instances where my cham had to fight to get the hornworm to let go, too which makes me nervous. She's been fine, but there's always a risk for tongue injury. What I usually do is either keep the worm in my hand or I use tongs to feed hornworms (just make sure you loosen up...
I absolutely love LLLReptile. I got my ficus from them and plan on getting a baby male veiled from them at some point in the near future. Their shipping prices are fantastic and their products are top notch.
Do you have a picture of the other cham for a comparison? I'm no vet and I'm fairly new to this whole cham rearing thing, but I agree with what Carlton said about poor nutrition. Mealworms aren't a good staple. I avoid mealworms entirely and go for the somewhat softer Superworm, but only...
Do you have a laying bin set up for her? She's looking a bit puffy and does have her receptive colors. Also, it's really not a good idea to house two chams together. Please fill out this how to ask for help form in a reply...

Well, crazily enough, after just saying I've been waiting for cocoons to hatch last night, THREE hatched over the last few hours. They aren't doing much, though. Just hanging out on the screen of the repti-breeze. Food is there for them, but they aren't touching is. I'll check on them again in...
Chameleons can be shy drinkers. It's possible that you may never actually see him drinking. Just keep an eye on his urates for signs of dehydration (yellow is a warning and orange is signs of them really needing water).
For the drip system, just let it go and let him go. If you stand there and...
