I don't mean to get in the middle of this debate but I couldn't find anything inconsistent between cyberlocc's "layman" phrasing and the content in the article he linked. The article very clearly and explicitly states that roaches convert excess protein into uric acid which they store for later...

I think it looks shorter because the base is cut out in most of the photos he posted. In the last photo it looks like the height and width of the enclosure is the same. Looks like 90 x 45 x 90 to me.
You should listen to @cyberlocc. He is one of the top experts on lighting, especially LED lighting, I have seen anywhere, not just on these forums. I did planted aquariums for about 10 years and was active on the planted tank forums and he is more hardcore than even the experts over there...
This may not be so easy if it's glass.
@OP can you tell us more about your enclosure (what type, size, etc.) and your misting schedule?
If it's a glass terrarium then you will be doing this every day in a bare bottom enclosure even with a light misting schedule. Your only option will be to go...
I had the exact same problem with my first panther ??
Silkworm feeders are hard to find where I live so I drove about one and a half hours to a farm and purchased about 100 live worms. I even starved my panther for about a week to see if he would give them a try, but to no avail. I've read that...
A lot of places sell non MK compatible nozzles though I do not know the exact specs. Others can help you out better there. You just daisy chain the nozzles to use more than one but you will need a Y splitter or T connector in order to extend or create multiple lines to the nozzles...
I was shocked when I read the subject line and was hoping it was an attempt at click-bait. Alas ...
I am so sorry for your loss. It was so awesome to read about Lily and her fantastic enclosure. She has now moved on to a jungle paradise. Your absence will be a temporary loss for these forums...
Filled out the survey but it's very difficult to state a "base color" for panthers (I just put it's most dominant color) and even more difficult to state a new "displayed color." As you may know, chameleons don't just change from one color to another. Oftentimes colors just become more bright...
I've used similar excuses (water leaks) in the past to buy new enclosures :ROFLMAO:
Ultimately I'm not sure it'd be worth it for me to set up such a system as my "reptile room" consists of only 4 chameleons at the moment. I plan to purchase a pair of Kinyongia boehmei later this year at which...
The problem is not that I do not own my own home, the problem is that my wife also owns it :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
She would murder me in my sleep if I ever tried to do what you just described lol.
Yes, it was, sorry if some of my points came across as if you did not already address them.
The main reason for my concern is that some people may only skim these posts, or read the first few sentences. For example, if someone were just to read a statement like "heat + humidity does not cause...
This is not possible for me since my RO filter is too far away from my chameleon room, but I did at point think about putting a UVC lamp in my reservoir
I totally agree with almost everything you say here but think we have to be careful about this information is presented.
Although heat + humidity definitely doesn't cause RI (bacteria does), it can definitely contribute to conditions which increase the chance of your chameleon contracting RI...
I don't know about 100% humidity ... it won't necessarily contribute to an infection but it might cause other issues and make chameleons a bit uncomfortable. With humans and many other animals there is an ideal range, more is not always necessarily better. This is purely conjecture on my part...
Heat doesn't cause RI
Cold doesn't cause RI
Humidity doesn't cause RI
Lack of humidity doesn't cause RI
Any combination of the above doesn't absolutely cause RI.
Bacteria causes RI
Bacteria multiplies best under warm and moist conditions, but those 2 alone won't cause a bacteria infestation...
This caught my interest so I visited the Amazon site but the manufacturer stated that this is not waterproof ?:
Question:
Will this sensor work outdoors? , unit most hang from a tree, is this possible? For How long of a period will the unit store information?
Answer:
The sensor is not...
