    Veiled cham right eye shut

http://www.picresize.com/ This is the picture resize site. It is free and easy. Just set the size to 250k or less. Yes! I need to add branches higher up. I am doing that tomorrow morning. I am also adding a drainage system. I have been looking at a lot of the enclosures on this site and...

Gray head coloring & Lethargy in 5mo veiled?

Mine is the same age and his head is the same color. He just shed, but his head appears as though he hasn't. I have seen the shed skin come off his head, so I am not too worried .

    Panther chameleon drinking from bowl.

I would be thrilled if gizmo drank from a water bowl! Keep it clean and consider yourself fortunate :-)

Question about wood sealant on a custom enclosure...

Something such as pond armor will work and it is non toxic. I had a monitor, water Dragon, and rabbit cages with similar product on it. It worked great. My cousin built a fish tank out of plywood and sealed it. It still holds water! The rabbits ate the wood and it never hurt them, although I...

    Heating issues

I like the brooder bulbs they use for chickens. They provide warmth over a larger area, and provide a nice basking spot that doesn't get insanely hot. As mentioned earlier in this post, objects will gain heat while sitting under a heat source. Kind of like a pot on the stove.

    Sticks for Cham cgae

I am always afraid of the branches poking through the sides. Any suggestions?

    New bulb

My only concern would be the uvb output. Typically the 50 watt bulbs are sufficient, 100 watt if they are going through a screen top. I would not use both. Chameleons don't need very high amounts of uvb.

drip systems anyone ? how to?

I have a light rack made of pvc that I hang my little dripper from. It is not the most elegant thing ever, but it works great and keeps the weight off of the screen top.

    chameleon vivarium

I know you can buy the screened enclosures online for about a third to half the cost they are in the stores. They are really nice and worth the money. As I have found out already, these guys are a lot more delicate and particular than other reptiles and amphibians. It is a must to try and get...

    Anyone make feeder cups?

Thanks for the tip! I used a thin wire to wrap it around a branch as a temporary fix. I may use a zip tie.

    Veiled cham right eye shut

Soooo...after consulting expert advice I found out that gizmo was severely dehydrated. I was able to sit him in a warm mist and he drank non-stop for at least fifteen minutes. This wasn't any different from what I normally do except that the water was on the walls and not the plants. Also, I...

    Veiled cham right eye shut

Thanks for the link on the Vitamin A! Unfortunatley, I am not sure if that answers my questions or just adds more:) Since the time I last posted, he has gotten worse. Now he closes the other eye and only keeps his "bad" eye open half the time. He is also beginning to weeze when he gets worked...

Thank you for your fast responses! I went out and got some "vit A with retinyl palmitate". I applied a drop to his feeders this evening and will do so every other day for the recommended time frame. Lazy Boy & ZiggyStarDust Thank you! You are right. I have been out of the reptile field for...

    Veiled cham right eye shut

Greetings! I am not new to reptiles, but am new to chameleons. This guy is my first one. I got gizmo a few weeks back and have noticed two "problems" since that time that may or may not be related. The first was what appeared to be a blister on his casque. I had a 75 watt heat light sitting...
