Your pictures look cutie and again I am no expert- but in more than half the pictures they looked stressed. Mine is a nice olive green 95% of the time.
I believe they only show their dark colors and puff up when they feel threaten. It makes for a nice picture, but I don't think they are saying I...
Ok-that sounds crazy-I could see if you have a separate room to roam in, but I don't think I want my reptiles in my kitchen ,or for that matter pooping on my couch.
Sounds unhealthy for both you and your pets-but if it works for you Que Sera Sera.
I let him out of his cage when I can. He climbs between his plant and his cage under watchful eye. The minute I take my eyes off him he tries to climb to
the top of his cage. His lights are up there and if not turned off we have a problem. When you free range your chameleon do you watch him...
My original point was that some people on this forum make it seem like a chameleon is going to be cute and cuddly and though all may
be cutie not all are cuddly, and when a new person gets one and its not, they are disappointed.
I have tried to handle my guy lovingly and with patience. I can get...
So my house is going to be a more natural environment then a cage I have set up.
I am sure if it was up to mine chameleon and yours they would rather be in the wild and my fish would rather be in a pond.
So what's the point-should we not keep them
Not sure how to respond to that one. They are animals. How does a chameleon act like part of the family. What other "animals" are part of your family.
My cat would love to play with my chameleon.
Well said jajeanpierre, I am a novice when it comes to chameleons, I am only on my second one, but it irritates me when people try to make them seem like lovable
pets that want to be held. Then people get one are disappointed when there not.
Try to do it right before he goes to sleep. I ve had mine for almost a year and he still hisses and bites.
I handle him as little as possible and he is much happier.
ARE YOU GUYS JOKING! Who in there right mind put their chameleon outside not in a cage and expects him to be there
when you get back. Come on please tell me you are just kidding.
One way I have combated them is to get some sticky fly ribbon and get a desk lamp. I have a small fluorescent two bulb lamp and put the strip between the two bulbs.
I have the lamp about 4 feet away on my desk and it has trapped a lot of flies. It wouldn't get all of them put I got more this way...
My guy is pretty unfriendly too, although maybe not as bad. I can't handle him but I let him out of the cage when I can.
I brought a large potted plant and put it on a stool in front of his cage. Then I take a branch and put it from the cage to the plant.
Make sure the branch is secured with...
My guy hates the misting too. He runs to the bottom of the cage. I only use the hand mister once or twice a day, and not to long.
Sometimes even skip a day. He has the dripper almost all day. So far 8 months and he seems to be doing fine.
