I have a 6"x6"x1" deep container of totally dry sand in the bottom......When she goes to dig she throws the sand out on the bottom of the cage so it's easy to tell. I always figured leaving a damp substrate would promote bacteria and/or mold growth.

Containers
Any of these.
Or junkier.....or more disposable, such as deli cups, gladware......or sturdier like mason jars, mayonaise jars, etc.
You can use anything.......choices are endless.

WOW I must really stink at taking pics and choosing which one to post for the contest......I thought for sure I had a finalist this time I figured 3rd or 4th.
Oh well. I can never figure it out.
Try again for Feb! :D
Kevin
Let me just add that I use baby food fruits and baby cereal oats figuring that the nutritional values are greater for the chams........kinda like gutloading crickets.

Speaking of masters.
I'm very good at fishing and catching & hooking my own bait.
I know that's why my wife calls me a master...........Ummmm wait that's for a different thread....and probably site. :D
Which site?
I usually just use whatever kitchen containers that I have laying around.
Then I put bridal veil, pantyhose, or coffee filters across the top with rubber bands or trap them under a lid that I've cut the middle out of.

Those bulbs are not best suited for chams.
A linear flourescent UVB 5.0 and a regular household bulb for heat are the best combination for creating proper heat gradient and UVB availability.
There are high output bulbs available. They are specialized mercury vapor bulbs. You would really...
If you're talking about screen cages, I don't think that they're worth building to save money. The only time I've found it worthwhile is if you want a custom size. It costs only slightly more to purchase the premade kits than to assemble one of the same size from scratch.
If you're talking...

Kevin
Haha, Like mine.....
Here he is.
Hard to get him to stop for a pic.
Here's my snowflake.
Man I love these guys. Except for when my snlowflake tries to bite me everytime I have my hand in the tank.
Kevin

"We live in Pennsylvania so we cannot keep our collection outside during the winter months. This limits our space and therefore our collection. We keep only a few breeders and limit our clutches to make...
Dodolah,
Wow you have them trained well.....no wonder you take great pics.
MALTreptiles,
I tried the ducky in the shower thing but the stupid thing just sits there on the floor and doesn't do anything then it tries to trip me when I get out.........I must be doing something...
:D The rubber ducky is in the bath not the shower..... Jeese.
I shower all my juvenile and adult chams once a week or two. I put a plant in the shower and bounce tempid water off the shower wall to spray on them. I leave them in for 15 mins to a half an hour.
