Baby new cage but his digging

Btw those big thick branches are going to be hard for rtango to hold onto. The guide is nothing thicker then your thumb unless it’s being used for structure to hold up something heavy.

Baby new cage but his digging

Don’t worry they all act strange in new habitats. No lights yet I see. Can’t go too Long without heat and uvb too. Or are they there and I am just missing them? With me, anything is possible!

Sorry I thought your girl had a clutch of eggs! Well thankfully she didn’t. Three ways to check for dehydration. Sunken eyes, sunken casque, and orange urate. Means the urine is old and has crystallized. Most of us keep the bottom of the cage without substrate so we can keep an eye on it. Also...

The best vine to get is Flukers Bend a Branch. It has three thicknesses. Mine likes to hang out on the large one under the basking light and the small and medium ones I have creat a jungle gym for him the climb on. Now remember she needs real plants to keep the humidity up plus the water stays...

Is this the right way to incubate my chams eggs?

Yes unfortunately female chameleons can retain sperm for the next fertilization! So even if you haven’t mated her, the next clutch of eggs have to be watched to see if they are viable. I agree it’s a trip!

Is this the right way to incubate my chams eggs?

Omg she is beautiful and had a full clutch of eggs! How exiting! Now don't forget to setup a calandar so you can take them out if the closet 20-30 days before they are ready to hatch so you can keep an eye on them and get ready. good luck. She needs a bunch of treats for doing such a good job...

Hello and welcome! I know she is molting and probably temperamental right now, but she looks dehydrated to me. Also the yellow patches don't look right to me. When they are angry or scared they will change colors to let you know. When mine has yellow in his legs and black dots it means he is...

Has anyone ever used superworms beetles as staples?

Every now and then a few will hatch in the cage. I have never seen any of my chams hunt them. They have a very hard exoskeleton so I imagine the chams know thier mouths might get injuries. plus they give me the creeps, lol

    Shipping a Chameleon

Well cargo planes don’t have heat in the cargo area. When I had mine shipped to me they put a heat pack on the outside of the styrofoam. And that worked fine is was on October 13, from NY to LA.

    Burn marks or normal colour

Don't see any burns. UVB light should be linear not globe. Globe only goes down 3 inches. reptisun has a 24" hood that comes with the right bulb. if its too wide it can hang over the edge no.problem. Bulbs should be changed once a year as they dim. Also I like having a dimmer switch on the...

    Going to sleep earlier

I use a timer for all if my lights. 7am -7pm the only times I change that time is when it differs from sun up to sun down more than an hour. That way mine can get up and get warm before I get up and feed them. But if you don’t get a uvb asap your little one can be at risk for MBD. Metabolic Bone...

Just wanted to find out if my cham looks healthy

Oh I see the little spurs. With each motel from here on out his colors will come in. Very exciting. I do recommend once you get your lights to do a complete husbandry review. Beman is excellent at spotting problem areas. At about 8 months he will start to patrol looking out for a female and will...

    Pseudo Gout

Well I do not know about gout or suedo gout in chams but I do know about it in humans as I have suedo gout in both hips and knees! Gout is caused by crystallized uric acid in the synovial fluid in the joint and suedo. gout is caused by crystallized calcium in the synovial fluid. Once each of...

Just wanted to find out if my cham looks healthy

Well I believe each cham has its own personality. I try to listen to what they tell me. Mine begs to come out when he hears me coming usually. He likes to go for walks and loves his window that I set up with pathos hanging from the top. But there are times when he heads to the back so I just...

You are right Beman. I see both feet in one pic. She is female. She really seems to like eating plants too! At that age she needs a lay bin

Just wanted to find out if my cham looks healthy

Looks very healthy to me. You sure its a male? Are there spurs on the back feet? Could see in the pics but it might be the angle. The casque looks like a female and there is no bulge at the vent. careful of the direct sun. The babies sunburn easily. It is needed for the uvb, but indirect would...
