you can look at the bulb itself and it should have a label printed directly on it. Turn the light off - lift up the hood and look at the bulb, you may have to remove it. The repti-sun I recently installed even had an area to mark the installation date and recommended replacement every year...

That's a shame - I think all of us would have loved to have that database available. I could imagine how difficult it would be to track, but I'd be more willing to buy from a breeder who fully participated in that than an average joe who didn't :p
