Thanks, that's the summary I was hoping for. I looked at one of the pages, and it didn't make any sense to me, probably because I don't shop for chameleons, much less rare species of chameleons.
That makes sense, again something I would personally never do unless I were breeding that species and producing many more animals than I took out of the wild.
I have screen cages, but I haven't used real branches (yet) but I have used trimmed plant stakes (the green plastic ones). I put hot glue on the ends and tacks on the outside of the cage to secure them.
I haven't put real branches in there yet, though I do have a few tree clippings drying...
Just show her the bin when you've got the eggcrate all standing up on the side and the dubias already settled in to the bin. They hide themselves, so when you look in, you hardly see any of them at all as long as you've got plenty of eggcrate.
My hubby still looks over my shoulder...
Cornmeal, oats, and wheat germ would all absorb some of the water. Once the mixture gets too thick for the blender to still churn, I throw it in a bowl and add these. It thickens if you give it some time.
From a developmental perspective that's more like a female taking the pill, the fertilized egg does not implant and can't grow so it is flushed out. It would be more like an abortion if you let the eggs develop for about a third of the normal development time and then destroyed them.
That's exactly what I was thinking too. I'm sure some might have an issue with destroying viable eggs, but I see no reason to follow in octo-mom's footsteps and use every single egg if you don't need to. :D
Heck, a cooktop would burn off any bacteria as soon as you turned it on to use it. I'm guilty of putting my chameleons in my kitchen, on a plant. Occasionally they get onto the counter when they try to go for an adventure. Hopefully it doesn't freak people out. :p
That's just adorable.
Is that a plate in the second and third picture? Someone should take a picture of a gecko holding on to a non stick pan, just to prove them wrong. :D
Nice looking snake, the colors look nicer than mosr corn snakes I've seen.
I felt the same way but my husband picked up a few snakes at the reptile show. He bought frozen pinkies for them. I hated the idea at first, but then when I thought about the human cadavers I had to cut up they...
LOL. I should ask my husband to loan me his gas mask. :D:D
Actually, we have some pretty decent masks made for paint fumes, those would probably work well.
I get allergy headaches from crickets. I'm seriously considering switching over to roaches primarly. Luckily my son is unaffected and he can help with them.
