Did she have dirt on her nose? They use it like a shovel. It sounds like she laid her eggs to me also. Does she look thinner? Sometimes they dig test holes but they don't typically fill them in completely until they have laid the eggs. They cover them up so well that you can't even tell...
Check the area for venomous spiders, I have had spiderbites on my chams before. He looked seriously ill in the pics, almost too hot or burned as Elizadolots mentioned. Is his enclosure in a window where the sun comes in during the day? It is strange for him to become so ill so quickly.
I use a similar mix and dampen it just enough that I can tunnel in it with my hand without it collapsing on me. The only problem is that after a couple of days it tends to dry out and will need redampening.
Congrats! Do you have any pics of these guys? I kept them years ago but never had any luck with them breeding. I remember the males being much smaller than the females. I like their blue eye turrets.
Do you know the locale? There is a chance, if it is ankaramy, that it could be a young male that is just taking longer to mature and show a bulge. Ankaramy males show pink as an adult. Still looks like a female to me though. Are you saying that females are more valuable in your country...
Watch out, I have had a few clutches start to emerge at 5.5 months! Good luck with them! (I just realized after posting that you have C. calypratus, mine were all F. pardalis.)
I have a couple of 5 month old females and several 3 month old juveniles that are 50% ambanja 50% ambilobe. I also have some 3 month old juveniles that are ambilobe from the "Anubis" bloodline. Contact if interested and I can send pics of parents and or juveniles for currently for sale.
Is it new? Does it have a starter? Depending on how old it is, it may just need a new starter. They sell them at Home Depot for a little over $1.
Here is what they look like if you don't know:
