    Calcium w/D3 & Reptivite

Do not dust with D3 more than twice a month; too much can be toxic. You can dust with calcium w/out d3 as often as daily without any ill effects, but for a subadult male 2-3 times a week is probably sufficient. I recommend you gutload your feeder insects with carrots and leafy greens like...

Veiled Laid 29 eggs, but still is bumpy...

It would be an Oxytocin shot- would probably run around $100, with the exam. Was she bred? Do you know if they are fertile or infertile eggs?

Veiled chameleon on eating in the late afternoon

Try skipping feeding him for a day or 2, then present him feeder insects in the morning; if he's hungry he'll eat-

    Flooded with paradilIs

I would venture to guess that some of South Florida's big distributors have established feral populations of Panthers and are now harvesting them; this has been happening with Veileds for some time...

    Requesting Advice from Cham Owners

Your best chance is to use a strong spotlight to search any and all bushes, trees, or other vegetation after dark. As Lathis said they shine in the flashlight beam and when sleeping they don't move so they are usually easy to spot. Keep looking for several nights, don't give up after one try-

    Requesting Advice from Cham Owners

Sounds good- for outdoors, make sure his enclosure has plenty of foliage so he can find areas of full sun, partial sun, and full shade to thermoregulate. I would also cover 1/3 to 1/2 of my cages with a towel or tarp. In the summer when it gets hot, I had a portion of my porch facing north so...

    Requesting Advice from Cham Owners

I guess it depends on the orientation of your apartment balcony- if it faces north you won't get any direct sun and you'll be out of luck, east facing will get morning sun, west will get afternoon, south would be best with sun most of the day. My rule of thumb for adult Veileds is they stay...

    Requesting Advice from Cham Owners

All good advice above- I have 3 comments: 1) I recommend you cut back watering to 1-2 good mistings/day and then a deep watering/shower with a dripper once a week. Veileds are not a rainforest species, cage conditions should be dry between waterings. 2) try not feeding him for 2-3 days, then...

    I am not happy!

75F today in Las Vegas, over night lows in the 50's. My chams are still outside. Suppose to be down to 60F high/39F low by Sunday; time for them to come inside-

    New Veiled Chameleon

Greetings and welcome- great advice by kwengkynator and camimom; I would also add: Be careful about providing too much moisture/humidity, Veileds are not a rainforest species. I recommend a good misting once or twice a day, and let his habitat dry out in between waterings. You can provide a...

Is my chameleon surviving or thriving?

Carlton, I copy all and hear what you are saying, I'm just providing advice based on my experience and research. I believe that the recommendations for Veileds for humidity and watering by most pet stores are way too high, and reptileguy's description of watering 4-6 times a day and 60%+...

    death of Chamaeleo chamaeleon

I agree that 40 in 1 cage is way to many- I recommend a max of 10 per cage. We also need more information to help evaluate what could be going on: What species of Chameleo are they? What's your climate? What are the daytime highs/overnight lows? How much shade is available in the cage for...

Is my chameleon surviving or thriving?

I recommend a warmer basking spot- 85F at her age, raising it to 90F+ as an adult. Also I would cut back on watering- you only need a good misting 1-2 times a day, and a deep watering with a dripper once or twice a week. Let humidity drop to ambient level in your house in between...

First time Veiled Chameleon owner... HELP?

Based on your photo, looks like a female, as I don't see a tarsal spur on the heel of the hind foot; could use a little better pic to make sure. Based on size, probably a 5-7 month old juvenile. Your setup looks ok. A few comments- Watering- a heavy spraying once or twice a day is good, but...

    Baby hatchling not active.?.!

I see a few of problems with such a small cage- first is no temperature gradient so he cannot thermoregulate, second no air circulation, third only a single branch does not provide him enough cover for him to hide & feel secure, and fourth very little space for him to move around. Such small...
