Lots of owners take sleeping pics.
Second to baby pics, they are the most popular because they are so cute :)
Taking a flash pic will almost surly wake him up, but no harm done.
As already said, just dont scare him because they can panic and jump, or just fall to the floor.
I personaly...
Just checking to see how your girl is doing today.
Nothing yet?
Sometimes, if you dig a 'pilot' hole in the lay bin, it can stimulate digging behavior.
This is what I have read, but as I said before, I stay away from females, and not interested in breeding, so I have no first hand...
Your panther looks fine to me.
You need to check the distance he is from the hot basking lamp, it needs to be a good 10'', and take into account the top of their head, and the top spine.
The spine can burn very easy.
I lost a panther due to infection that quickly spread from a spine burn...
She looks healthy and content, I think you are doing the right thing by waiting a few more days and giving her complete privacy.
I have never owned a female cham, so I don't have any experience with these matters, but maybe another x-ray would tell if the eggs are fully formed, and if they have...
Try using a different brand.
I had a cham that refused to eat anything dusted with a certain brand of calcium.
I changed to Repashy, and he ate them!!
Some chams are picky! go figure!!
I use Flukers bendy vine and Exoterra jungle vine twisted together to make a thick 'super vine' :)
Even my biggest chams can walk on them, almost like a tree branch.
With some experience, you will know when/if they are going to suicide drop. You can see the signs of it coming.
When that happens, it's best to just turn and walk slowly away! ;)
Thanks for the explaination, I get it now :o
So, lacking any compelling reason to suspect faked documents, on what grounds would anyone seem so sure that they were?
Is it that unheard of for people to follow the law and be honest?
If animals were imported before the ban, then they were...
Someone please help me understand the scenario that is being put forward:
A) endangered F. minor were smuggled out of Madagascar and received in Europe, where there are no laws.
B) a small group of breeders successfully established the species over time. The original smuggled animals no...
Sounds like Steve has a good plan to me.
I know lots of us would love to see this species available in the US someday, before they dissapear from Madagascar.
At the rate they are going, the only forests left in a few years will be protected National parks.
Spending a few hours on Google...
Then my next stupid question would be, how are you going to determine who is qualified to breed?
Surely someone with more $$ than brains can buy breeding pairs, then kill them through ignorance!?
Some interesting studies have been done regarding how chams react to color with regard to mate selection, territorial dominance, and stuff like that.
They do react to colors.
My guys don't like one of my red shirts, or my black one.
So, I only ware earthy colors, like greens and browns when I...
