I'll do some brainstorming on whether I can add some more vines or not, space his tree from his enclosure more, or something. His enclosure is part of the "free range." It is in the center of the two trees and he prefers the willow over the other. He isn't out for more than a few hours at most...
Thanks for the link, your free ranges are amazing. I wish I could do something like that. However, every room in the house has a human occupant and the main rooms would be extremely hard to cham proof. I guess I'll just continue to babysit Moe, for now anyway. I don't believe my dog would do...
Babysitting while he is out...got ya. I figured there was a way to keep him in the tree as I know a lot of people free range. I would be afraid to open the door on a roaming free ranging cham on accident or something.
If it was on the ground it probably was the dripper. I pay more attention to what I find in his plants (which are covering the bottom of his enclosure) and I never noticed a water content to it. Just larger than normal poops.
Moe has recently decided that it would be interesting to venture from his tree after taking a few chomps of some leaves. He was like a child today. I had to take him off of the plant light that he managed to get on, then caught him off his tree and climbing on the bucket to his RainDome, and...
I noticed that depending on the size of the worm/worms fed that his poop would either be normal or large. Never had an issue with it being runny though.
When I have hornworm cups I place them lid down on top of the cham cage. It is screen so there is still air flow. Moe doesn't seem to be bugged about it.
No problem about reposting the video. So far I love the product. I have it half over the spider plant as I didn't want to completely drown it. As far as flipping the bulkhead, I'll play around with that on my next day off. I'm going to guess that moving the nozzle closer to the screen will make...
Misting times are listed above and for how long they go for. I'm just kind of playing around with it right now honestly. I'm going to watch the results for the next few days and see how things go, adjust as necessary. I'm all ears though to anybody's advice/opinions.
Yeah, she didn't like...
I finally got it all hooked up and am pleased with it. Moe was more interested in getting out of the cage and on to his tree and could almost care less about the rain/mist. The three year old I live with (roommates kid) seemed the most interested. As a drainage system I drilled several small...
I have a DIY 2'X2'X4' cage and have no problems with it at all. Moe has plenty of stuff to climb on so rarely climbs up the side of it unless it is to get outside of it and onto his tree outside his cage. He hasn't lost any nails or acted like he was stuck on it, etc. All in all I like the...
Haha...that would be correct! I had me a 85 RX-7 that was totaled when I was about 22 years old, some lady ran a red. I had gotten first place in a show with that car and was prepping it for another and I was so upset when it was wrecked. Not but a few months later I bought me another, same...
I had opened up his cage today and handfed him some hornworms. He ate a couple and then crawled straight on my hand, up my arm, and to his Willow tree. I guess he wanted to spend some time in it so, I took the opportunity to take some pictures. I'm now wanting a REAL camera as all I'm using...
Moe stayed outside all day and all night rain or shine during the summer. I only brought him in when the hurricane was coming. Other than that he stuck it out through even thunderstorms. It didn't seem to bother him at all. He had plants to help shelter him if he really wanted to and his cage...
First off, got to say that when you jumped it did make me laugh. Try moving slower to him and approach from underneath instead of above or straight toward. Time and patience and you should be able to handle the little bugger soon. If he hasn't eaten lately try to coax him with a small worm of...
Thanks for the compliments and advice. I do appreciate all input. I probably was just overreacting, I'm sure. I put him back inside his enclosure but left the door open. He hit the heat lamp for a bit then started exploring and is now hanging half out the enclosure reaching for his willow tree...
I read a lot about the use of night time lights with chams and realize most everybody is against it. I have watched his actions with it since I started using it and he has grown up with it. He sleeps soundly with it on and wakes up a grumpy cham if I mess with him while he is asleep and the time...
