so a few days ago, while feeding, i noticed carl was bulging his right eye and rubbing it on a branch right before trying to shoot at a butterworm. he does the whole eye bulge thing during mistings but never like that. upon closer inspection i noticed his eye was slightly swollen and not open...
i agree that if you're not sure what it is,than you shouldn't pull it out. but do you personally see anything wrong with helping your cham with a sperm plug by gently pulling it out?? from my understanding, there is nothing wrong with that (as long as you're sure what it is).
hahahaha glad you all like this as much as i do. i also love sites like this, and i think i can fulfill my christmas shopping with this as well lol. if only i could afford the car/plane :(
i give my jacksons calcium once maybe twice a week, and calcium w d3 and a multivitamin once a month. i also try to get him outside a bit when it's nice, but now its getting cold for winter so i may increase d3 to twice a month to make up for the lack of natural sunlight he gets. i also try to...
drippers are a good choice as well as hand mistings with a spray bottle. that would also bring up the issue of drainage and ventilation for the cage, seeing as you have a glass enclosure. if you'd like some advice from myself or others on this and other stuff it would be wise to fill out the...
im guessing it's just their way of eliminating sperm from their bodies. nah doesnt mean he's sick in any way. i've never run into this problem and some others never have either, but it does happen and there's nothing wrong with helping him get it out as long as you do it gently :)
https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/ his initial question didn't seem to require the help form. i would like to stay on topic here, but yes waterfalls are bad and a breeding ground for bacteria and people have differentiating opinions on glass cages for chams due to lack of...
hahahaha yea unfortunately oaks isn't really that big of a show. i get all excited, get up early, take the 45 min drive out there and!!!......get disappointed by the lack of chams :( still a good place to grab some cheap stuff. got some silks n horns there last time. still found it difficult...
there was another thread somewhere about feeding silkworms things other than mulberry leaves/chow. i havent tried it and i don't have any experience with dino fuel, but people were saying silkworms will eat just about anything, but they will die off shortly after, possibly due to their body...
ive never been to the one in hamburg, but a friend of mine told me it was worth checking out. ive been to the one in oaks several times and it was cool, but kinda small and disappointing, especially if you're there for chams. mostly snakes (although the venomous ones are cool to look at) they...
ohhh i see what you mean. didnt realize they made different types of gorilla glue. nah its not the wood or pvc glue, i think it's just the original. bottle still claims 100% waterproof and can be used on everything. stone, metal, plastic etc
i used newspaper at first, and at night i would point a small fan across the cage floor to help dry it out, which helped me keep it in there for more than a day at a time, but seriously, having a good drainage system makes life soooo much easier :)
i would suggest creating some sort of drainage system. makes life alot easier. otherwise you would have to regularly change out the newspaper. you don't want soaked newspaper sitting in the bottom of the cage too long as it can harbor bacteria and mold. a heat mat seems kind of pointless to...
