Thank you.
She was a wild-caught, so I did not breed her, but hopefully some babies will survive.
It is very warm here today, so I put them on the main floor (where it is cooler) and will get some pinheads tomorrow.
Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you know that my female Werner's gave birth to 9 little ones. She unfortunately had 4 that were stillborn.
She started around 7:30 AM, but I had to go to work, so I just sprayed her and left. She looked very deflated when I came home, but ok. I found 1 "dead one"...
The fogger would work if kept on a timer to run 15 min. at a time. It also needs to sit in water.
The unit gets hot also.
Maybe the Jackson got infection from dirty water brought up from the fogger?
I work in a pet store, so know the product.
I put my pair of Oustalet's outside, on a big hibiscus, supervised, of course.
They ignored each other and ate bugs!
I put them back inside (they can't go out everyday), but I removed the visual separation, to see if male would react to her. They still ignore each other and do not seem to mind...
The only chams that were fairly close to the deremensis, when he looked healthy, was a male rudis and gravid werner's.
They are both doing fine and do not want to risk treating a gravid female.
When my baby beardeds are gone, I will keep the wild-caughts in 1 room and captive-bred in the...
Well, I finally brought my sleepy male deremensis to an exotic animal vet. He had to stay in a container all day, while I was working, then I brought him last evening.
The vet said he was in good shape, but has no idea why he is closing eyes.
I was lucky in that he pooped in container...
Hi,
I might have an opportunity to get a male of this locality. I know it will be hard to find a female for him, as no one seems to be working with them.
Do you guys think it's a good idea?
It is a myth. Chameleons chew their prey well anyway, but the acids in their stomachs would do the worms in.
The only problem is if you feed too many, they may get regurgitated.
I know that no bulb can compare to real sun, and even in the shade it can be brighter that a uv bulb.
I was just wondering, do reptiles get uv exposure being in the shade? they get it a bit on cloudy days, that I know.
Does the sun need to actually shine on the lizard for any benefit?
Thanks.
Thank you. When his eyes opened yesterday, he ate 1 superworm. I dripped him and he drank a bit, then offered him a little cricket, but he was not interested.
His eyes were closed all day again today.
He is in a 4 ft tall cage, but no uv light, just using light by window for him. It is a...
Thank you. He did not eat for the week, as his eyes were closed, but he was active, really weird. He is a wild-caught and has some yellow, hard scabs on his body that do not come off with shedding. I do not think that is related to eye thing , however.
He is kept with no heat light and when I...
I almost lost my male C. deremensis this week.
I came home from training my dog last Sunday, and my male deremensis had both eyes closed. I tried spraying him but they just would not open. I called a reptile vet, but they said there was nothing they could do, as vet has not experience with...
I have alot of critter pens ready for the babies, as I will try to separate them individually.
Hopefully, they will not give birth at the same time!
I know the success rate is low for the neos, but I have to give it a try. It will be fall/winter by the time they give birth so will be cooler...
I kept a gravid female in a glass tank . She laid her eggs and lived another year in one.
I needed to keep her in there as she was too small for my huge chameleon cages and I needed to keep heat in more as I live in Canada.
I think it is ok, as long as temps don't get too high and you cover...
I have 2 panthers, 2 oustalets, 2 rudis and 1 deremensis
and they all hate to be sprayed!
I leave a bottle with room temp H2O and spray them all daily, but they all stress easily and run away.
If I drip water from the dripper, the oustalets tolerate it sometimes, but the others wiggle...
I am not sure what the lowest temp is in their natural habitat, but mine tolerated 60deg at night, as long as they could warm back up in the day.
Mine, now, are presently at 70 night, but I need to turn off heating lights during the day as the room gets close to 90.
Hello everyone,
Just joined last week. I am getting back into chameleons, big time!
I got a pair of rudis last week (female gravid) and am getting a gravid werneri in a trade for my baby beardies. I know that they should be kept similar to the rudis, but does anyone have any other info on...
