so i have a reptisun 5.0 uvb and a 75watt basking lamp. im not really sure what a uva bulb is? is that just the normal florescent bulb? and can you get that at like just home depot or lowes or one of those hardware stores? thanks!
well i built my own enclosure and i put two aluminum mesh on top. the one on the inside is a bit loose so my cham wont burn himself. is that too much mesh for a 5.0?
i saw a vet. he just totally ignore my question. i asked him if she's gravid and he's all like "you know its different in captivity because of all the irregular lighting schedules and that they can no longer differentiate seasonal changes." but i dont know that 5 minute vet trip costed me 60...
this is day two of me trying to get my Bulma to lay eggs. i saw her sleeping at the bottom a couple of times a few days back and i immediately set up a 5 gallon bucket with some vines, uvb lighting and heat, and blinder so she gets privacy. so far she either wanders around the sand/soil mixture...
cute thing. i got mine a week ago as well. her name is Bulma. she's gravid and im trying to get some more info. but it seems nobody is responding so im at a lost.
how long does it take for them to notice the laying bin to lay eggs? because mine is most likely ready to lay since i saw her at the bottom sleeping and she's pretty fat. i have a t deremensis. i set up a seperate laying bin for her not inside the enclosure because my enclosure is not big enough...

do any type of species require a laying that big? and from the video im guessing its fine to remove the regular setup with a laying bin with a plant until its done right?
i built my own cage as well but i put two layers of aluminum mesh on the top. the inner one kind of droops so it keeps a distance from the basking light. is that too much? do i have to remake the top? its silver aluminum and i do have a thick foliage. i also keep my t deremensis outdoors 3 out...
i will try but she's not the most outgoing. but then again it might have to do with that i just got her. i mean she will accept crickets from my hand but i will have to stand there for like 10 minutes until she decides that im not a threat. also if she does lay fertile eggs, i will be sure to...
yes i use a fairly large sized tupperware with white calcium sand i bought at the petstore. however im wondering if they only lay eggs in sand or she will lay then in the soil in the pot?
well she doesnt close her eyes when she's on the lower areas. just chills there. i take her with her enclosure outside 3 times a week. the temperature here gets around 80s, no clouds and light breeze. is that ok? because whenever i take her out she would go on the mesh cage side and bask, which...
wow ok...thanks for the info. and the store's name was called east bay vivarium. it's a small store but its packed with snakes and lizards and tortoises and poison dart frogs and giant moniter lizards...to name a few. so i thought they were pretty reputable. plus they were selling a few juvenile...
Hi, im fairly new to owning a chameleon. ive had this one for about a week and the store that i got was a pretty legitimate reptile store. they told me that it was a female jackson's but from the other pictures that i've seen it looks nothing like one. also i think it might be gravid or pregnant...
