i've been looking all over the internet for silkworms, every place is sold out. does anyone know a place that has any?
thank you in advance,
Laura
nevermind. found some!!
ya, i didn't think of that. we'll see how it all goes, i should have results back friday or monday.
he's still eating fine, and drinking water. his activity is the same, of course i'll keep a close eye for any changes.
thanks guys...gals :)
so i got poke to the vet today after he was trying to throw up yesterday. i thought maybe he was getting an upper respiratory infection because he kept puffing air out after eating, and it seems like hes had more saliva lately. but the vet thinks its just a really bad infection throught all of...
Pokey is trying to throw up i don't know why. last thing he ate was a cricket over a hour and a half ago
he stopped now and nothing ever came up but that scared the crap outta me. why did he do that? what COULD i do?
i'm calling his vet tomorrow for an appointment.
i'm so glad she had the strength to lay. i worried for 4 months about any eggs, or if she would have the strength TO lay eggs. it feels so great to know she laid them and has such great care and attention now.
thank you, again, laurie!

i would take him to a vet for a culture/sensitivity test right away. and would assume that bump is an infection and the discoloration might be mouth rot. i'm no expert though, just an over protective chameleon mom :p
but i would have a culture/sensitivity done right away no matter what...
my guy is 3 years old and would rather walk up and bite something out of my hand than shoot his tongue, or he'll crawl down into the cup and bite things. he's been doing that for a while. he can shoot his tongue, and sometimes i make him, but he's just a lazy old man.
as long as he eats...

i might just have to do that, but i really want the plant to grow...
I always keep Pokey's cage clean, but once i month i take everything out and clean (and rinse) everything very thoroughly. and when i put everything back in i put it back, kind of the way it was, this last time i turned his main, big, plant 180 degrees so the lights hits it at a different angle...
oh that is all such great news! i'm sitting in my accounting class right now checking annie's status instead of doing work... you can tell where my mind is :D i'm so glad you have the time she needs Laurie. Thank you again for taking her under your (angel) wing.
he looks great! i think the cage looks good. and a pissy attitude is what you want. that means he's feeling good, strong, and healthy. Variety in food is a must and calcium, calcium +d3, and gut loading.
stick with this forum and you and your chameleon will do great!
i'm doing an informative speech on chameleons in my public speaking class. i only have 5 minutes to spit out as much info as i can. but i wanted to include the year the first chameleon was discovered and the year the most recent one was found, then the number different types of chameleons and...
