so far, I have four growing and well adjusted females and five males. I am going to put them into a quick series of seasons and see if i can trick their little bodies into thinking its prime breeding time. I have a pair of senegals that have been introduced and the female does not hate him, so...
Wow i love that cham tattoo! Im starting the draw up on it and its going to have a flap neck, my tegu, and my bp surrounded by tropical foliage and water drops. Its starting on my upper tigh and going up my side to the bottom of my shoulder blade. Im so excited!
stephen,
nearly every senegal available is wild caught andcovered in parasites and stress related illnesses, so they are difficult to keep alive until they reach a certain age, which mine are currently coming very close to (6-8mo). After this point, they grow hearty and resilient like other...
normally i would have had it already set up, but thinking i had one when i got home with them was a bad idea becasue my husband got a jacksons and needed it so i had to gather more stuff and open another terrarium up. the rest are doing great, inculding all of my senegals. seems they are all fat...
does anyone have any tattoos related to your chams? crazy sounding to some people but awesome to me getting a portrait of mine and my tegu and my ball python!
if you have a way to test the humidity levels or have the fan pulling the air up so the air can still cycle, there should be no problems, after all, stale un vented areas are bad on chams too! Get well soon!
Got a great book of spiecies and subs of chameleons and found the cape dwarf chameleon! super cute communal cham, but have not found anyone that has them, let alone has tham for sale. any leads?
:D
female flap neck is dead. its eyes were all the way back into its head so i knew that was going to happen. the two males are drinking happily in the kitchen sink whiile im settign their new terrarium up. thanks for all the ideas. i couldnt get the little one to drink until under some leaves. I...
Just got an order of flap necks that are pretty dehydrated and thin. I cant get the worse one to drink/eat! I really don't want them to die! what do I do? i tried the shower and the drip system, nothing. i tried letting them hunt and hand feeding, also nothing.
I love flap necks and sengals to death and I want to breed both kinds, but Im focusing more on my flap necks because they are hearty and healthy, as where the WC senegals are still too fragile to push that on them. Any tips?
Thanks for the article its awesome. Every little bit helps, and they describe in part of the article that when you take one of them from ther enclosure and leave the rest, they get agitated until you give them back, then they bask together during the day, and sleep holding each others tails by...
I agree they were hard at first toraise, but with regula showers to help them drink and this vitamin supplement booster I found, They all finally feel healthy. they take some powder with their lettuce and crickets to dispose of any unseen parasites and they all quarantined once they got home...
the enclosure is really great and as long as you have a good laying bin with a place for her to hide and soft substrate for her to lay she will be a happy cham!
I constantly worry about handling my chams because I have been told they stress easily, but they were so cute I had to one day, and since then thay climb up their trees to my finger and latch on! some even act like they are waiting around for me to pick them up. Romeo, my male Flap Neck is my...
I have a young senegal cham with a severly pointed spine, almost directly in the middle, I'm assuming because of poor handling when they were harvesting him :( He does not appear to be in pain, and the condition has not hindered movement and he eats and drinks better than some of my larger...
I ordered a lot of senegal Chameleons from a supplier and because I knew they were WC I expected some to be past the point of saving. I love the Senegal and wondered if anyone attempted to do any breeding with them, and their success or lack thereof? I know they are simply cheaper for people to...
