The cage
Here are the cages the lights will be going on, I'm thinking more on the side of replacing the reptisun 2.0 with the jungle dawn light. Sorry the picture is vertical its the only way it would upload!
Ok, I did read the post where the jungle dawn lighting and the 6400k bulbs I was just seeing what all as out there and hearing opinions based on what other people use/used.
I am soon changing to linear lights for my chameleon cages. I will have the reptisun 5.0 and 2.0 in the linear fixtures and heat bulbs in separate fixtures. My question is what do you use for extra lighting for the plants in the enclosures. Since Im changing things I want more light for plants...
I had a female veield and the only way one could handle her at all was by putting a black sock on your hand and she had no problem with it, but she would bite and hiss with just a hand. Don't ask me why!
Just wanted to show how my adult chameleons live! The cage in the middle has pregnant Iris in it so she is covered up, but her cage is basically the same as the other two. Almost all of the plants are living in the cages minus the vines. All three cages have dripper systems that drip and splash...
2 more eggs of the 15 clutch are piping! I know some eggs can be at this stage for a couple days, one egg has been piping for 1 day and the other for 2 days. Cant wait!!
Would like your opinions on this baby that was born 15 days ago. He/she is doing great and eating tons and tons of fruit flies. I was a little worried when it took him 5 days to start eating. On the 14 other eggs waiting to be hatched 2 of them are now sweating, 1 for 1 day and the other for 2...
I put him in a much smaller container but I havent put the fruit flies back in it yet just to give him a little time to get used to the new place, the flies are small like a pen point their the Drosophila melanogaster kind.
Thank you I planned on going to michaels to get the small cages when more are born. He just seems uninterested in the fruit flies, even somewhat scared. He just backs away from them if they come up close to him
Ive been calling him a boy just because of his markings I haven't sexed him yet but he is doing good roaming around his tub! The only thing that concerns me is that he still hasn't ate anything. Someone on the site told me it could take up to a week for a baby to start eating. I was wondering...
We had a panther egg hatch early this morning. My boyfriend had to help the little guy get out of his egg because the egg shrunk too much around him and he wasnt going to make it. But he or she, is doing great running around his new enclosure! Its been a couple hours now and he still hasnt ate...
I am going to start feeding my panther chameleons fruits and veggies I just would like to hear from all of you that have fed your chameleons these and what is best to avoid. I just do not want to find out that I have been feeding them poisonous foods.
From my research this is what I have...
