    Who gets there familly involved

I love this. I think teaching respect for animals is important. Also, perhaps they can grow up to help educate others that these are not easy pets to keep and in turn, will reduce the amount of abuse some of these animals face simply because people are not educated about them and the level of...

    Eye problem...

Also, is there a way a vet can test for vitamin deficiencies? If so, I might have that done to ensure I have covered all bases and that he is doing well.

    Eye problem...

Thank you- I am worried it could be something more... I am taking him to the vet Thursday to get him checked out really well. Another thing I noticed, but it may be nothing is that in between his two front arms he seems to have a little fluid under his skin... like a small pouch that you can...

    Dr Cecil in San Diego

I just read through the forums and have made an appointment with Todd R Cecil in San Diego based on some recommendations here. I have to travel about 10 minutes to get there... What is the best way to transport my Panther? (Minor eye problem) Thank you all :)

    Eye problem...

Thank you for the advice. I picked a tube up and started using it yesterday. Do you think I should use in both eyes to be safe? Also, if I apply once a day, how many days should I apply it?

    Keeping roaches contained

Can you help me understand how you use the clear packing tape? Do you put it perpendicular to the side of the container? Can you post a pic? Thank you :)

    Keeping roaches contained

They didn't have dubia so I was given a small hissing cockroach. Are they much different than Dubia? The one I was given is about an inch long.

    Keeping roaches contained

Bought my first roach to try... Not used to roaches and am completely freaked out. They cannot bite me, right? Also, they can climb up the slick edges of the cup I have for my Panther, how do you contain them in the cage? My cham is not interested in it right now, but want to keep it in there...

    Too much handling?

I forgot to add: I have a digital thermometer at the end of a cord that takes the temp/humidity reading. The basking spot is at about 85 in the afternoons, maybe a little higher during the day. I use the power sun UV bulb in the day, and a ceramic at night.

    Too much handling?

Thank you all soo much! I hope it is not something he is trying to get away from, I will elevate his cage so that he is higher than us. When he is closer to the bottom of the cage he does the same thing and actually goes straight onto our hands. I will leave him alone and not handle him for a...

    Too much handling?

I have had my panther(Pete) for about a month now. He is two years old (I was told) and from day 1 he was drinking water and eating worms from my hand. I know that chams are solitary creatures and too much handling stresses them. However, when we go near his cage he claws to come out and...

    Sunlight

How much time in the sun is enough for it to benefit a cham? I am thinking 5 minutes is not enough, but I work all day so I can only realistically get him out there on the weekends- what do you guys recommend? I was going to get a small screen cage and throw a plant and some vines in there as...
