    Stressed/hurt Chameleon

So sorry this accident happened and you are not a terrible owner. We are so hard on ourselves when we hurt a loved one by accident. You took him to the vet right away which I doubt he appreciated but tells me you are a great parent/friend. The advice you have been given is great and btw love the...

Chameleon with swollen eyes, please help!!

Oh I forgot to mention you said you are hand misting. It is a possibility that there may be some bacteria buildup in your mister. That could cause her eyes to become irritated. Make sure it’s clean out really good. Put a cap full of bleach in then fill it with water and let it sit for at least...

Chameleon with swollen eyes, please help!!

Hello. I think the one stick that you put in the Lay bin maybe too steep for her she needs several safe routes to get to the bottom of her cage and into and out of the laybin. Also you may want to add some more sand soil so she can really dig. Make sure it’s moist enough and packed enough so you...

Looking into some plants. Are any of the listed plants toxic? Experience with them in a chameleon cage?

Oh btw my Sansi was heavy duty and very bright but burnt out after a year! It was so hot I had to hang it from the ceiling. So I don’t recommend it.

Looking into some plants. Are any of the listed plants toxic? Experience with them in a chameleon cage?

I personally like the monstera Swiss cheese plant. It has long heavy stalks that won’t break when climbed on and large leaves to hide under and drink on top of. They are very hardy too. Make sure your top soil does not have any perlite in it as it can cause digestive issues when swallowed. Also...

    Dehydrated help!

I think Beman is onto your issue. Bringing a male Cham into the home will surely change her egg laying schedule too. It may be causing her stress too. When my panther gets ready to lay she stops eating and drinking completely for two to three days prior to laying. So if she is going to the...

    Finally complete! Any feedback?

Oh sorry I thought I read humidity too low but it’s too high. Actually I have heard of people putting fans at the bottom on the outside to get a chimney effect going. You might need to adjust the misting schedule too. This is a common adjustment thing in the beginning.

    Finally complete! Any feedback?

Try covering the back and one side with clear vinyl like a shower curtain liner. It really helps with the humidity!

    Beware of superworms

Hello all I was going over my chams eating regime with my new vet whom I just adore, Dr Stein and he warned me about super worms something that I have never heard before. He said that he has treated many chameleons for digestive issues caused by eating super worms. Apparently they can be...

    New chameleon grandma with questions!

Hi Winnie MJ is a translucent veiled chameleon. Translucent is an albino gene other than the coloring I don’t think there are any differences. I am in agreement that those are tarsal spurs on the rear feet. So you don’t have to worry about a lay bin or egg binding etc. much better. He is ready...

New Brookesia owner. Please help with ID and any tips and tricks for acclimation

Wow they are so tiny! When buying a pair you must consider the fact that they are from the same clutch if you intend on breeding them when they are older. In the meantime I wish you the best of luck on getting those two healthy and grown. My last vet said they have definitely seen inbreeding...
