3 more CH T. pfefferi

Almost 2 months ago, I was lucky to have 5 CH pfefferi emerge from their eggs. They are all doing well and growing fast. I think that they are 2.3.

This evening 3 CH pfefferi emerged from a second clutch. This second clutch is somewhere in the soil of their mom's cage. (The mom has been moved to another cage.) I knew that there was a clutch in the soil, but I didn't know where. I have been hoping that, when the first ones hatched, I would find disturbed soil and maybe empty eggs on the surface. But no such luck. There is 18"x18" of thickly planted soil, and I have no idea where these babies came from or if there will be more.

Maybe there will be a couple more babies by morning. Fingers crossed.

One more baby appeared this afternoon for a total of four.

I will check the tips of leaves this evening after the lights to see if there are additional babies which evaded my gaze during the day.

Do you happen to know if the incubation temps were similar as when you controlled it? How about incubation lengths?

Nice. Congrats. Any enclosure and baby pix? I was wondering if anyone left their eggs to incubate in the soil. I assume this is a fully planted vented glass enclosure?

Yes, I am keeping my pfefferi is fully planted ExoTerra glass terrariums. There is 2 to 4 inches of soil in the bottom of the terraria, and therefore plenty of room for small species to dig and deposit eggs.

I will post some images in a few days. Busy with work right now.

Nice to see a local keeper keeping two horns.
