My little girl just turned six months old and i was wondering if now is ok to cut her feeding to everyother day? i was doing about 5-7 crickets a day and some butters or phoenixs or even solider flies. But now i am wondering if i should go every other day to minimize egg production? Please let me know your ideas or knowledge. I read it on the blog by Jannb but my little girl is only about 11 grams so i was just wondering.
thanks for looking

yea but they can start to (possibly) produce eggs around six months so i want to min that, and thats why i am asking also because she is not fully grown

I assume your girl is panther chameleon, right? 11 grams isn't much for a 6 months old IMO. Are you certain thats her age and weight? Can you post her picture?

Yes she is a panther, and her hatch date was 8/30/2012, and thats what the digital scale says. She is my avatar but i will get a picture for you

ok, so, i don't know so i will not guess(hint hint),

but someone that knows will come on and help you john.:)

i mean i know its part of the natural life of a female cham but iI want her to live longer. Maybe i will keep feeding her everyday until she is 9-10 months old that way she can get bigger

Honestly, with how much you are feeding her I would keep going everyday for a couple more months. Bc you aren't feeding that much to begin with.

Thanks Squeekz yea i was just gonna keep doing that because its not like i am feeding her 20 a day i keep it pretty low and there are somedays where she will not eat everything. So i think i will keep at it till she is almost 1

Sounds like a plan :) I haven't kept a female, personally, but my boyfriends sister does and I think that is how they do it :)

I think I would do the same. She is still very small, so she should be getting more food then "average" 6 months old female IMHO. When she is receptive, you can decrease food intake just in case.
That's just what I would do, I'm not a big expert ;)

I never kept a panther myself, but based on guesswork and instinct I would say the same. Carry on as you are doing for a couple more months. She is choosing to have days off food anyway, so let her decide her limits. After a couple more months then think again, especially if she starts to look "chunky".......
lol
My Jasmine is a greedy guts and I had to cut food from around 5 months.....sometimes I spoil her and last week she was looking a wee bit plumpish.....so this week she's on a diet....:D

Thanks everyone for the input. yea i am just gonna feed her till she is full not fat or something like that:D
