A few pics of Caesar

sweet colors! He looks like he can bite hard!:D

Thanks for joining the thread! I've seen my share of hissing, gaping, and attempted biting, but luckily he's never caught me. Although, I believe he'd put a little extra power in to make up for missed attempts. :D

North American Chams in the Sun!

Beautiful weather here, safe for a few rainy days. Some of my latest from the back porch. He's really starting to understand when it's time to go outside, no hissing or gaping, puffin up, or mad colors.

Edit: In-line pics removed, they were huge!
Enjoying the sun!

Every Cham loves the Sun

So spring means Sun and the return of locusts. Caesar is getting big and enjoying the outdoors when he can.
Always ready to show off.

This cracks me up. It got a little windy, so he makes a run from his outdoor free range over the tree in the middle, down onto his transport cage, I'm thinkin' he wants to go inside too windy...Naw...he walks out here proceeds to survey his domain.

Finally...a cham chillin' in the Sun. That's my boy!

When it's cloudy and rainy

Yeah...and when it's cloudy and rainy, every cham owner knows their chams moody/mad colors. Here's Caesars':

What a beautiful yemen you have there! He looks so grumpy and happy at the same time! lol. I particularly like his large perfectly formed cask, a credit to your husbandry no doubt. :D

Caesar is looking gorgeous as ever, he's such a lucky boy to get so much time playing out in the sun :D

Some days yes...some days no...It's been windy and overcast here for about a week. We did get out for about an hour today..although it was mostly cloudy.

Ain't that the truth, he's a grump most of the time. Thanks for your compliments. He is rather proud of his casque, he'd say it's in the genes and has nothing to do with the wide variety of prey items I offer him. :D

Good looking boy. He's showing some wild color.

Thanks...he's certainly come into his own lately. Rarely misses a chance to strut his stuff.

Wow such nice pics love the colors ;)

Thanks...It's hard not to take photos constantly. Such a vibrant subject. See my profile albums for pics when he was little. :)

What's Caesar been up to?

It's been a few weeks....lets see what he's been up to. Currently he's in the middle of a "staple" feeder strike. Minor appetite when it comes to the "meat 'n potatoes", crickets 'n roaches. But always ready for dessert, wax worms, super worms, butterworms, and silkworms. Good thing one of us is responsible.

Outside with Dad.:)

Shedding, but that couldn't stop him from enjoying the sun ;)

Caesar's really looking good. He has a really tall casque. :D I love the set ups you have for him.

Thanks Jann for your encouragement. He's gotten so big in the 9 months he's been with me. I'm in the process of enclosing his outdoor gym, for his safety (birds nesting on the gym, birds of prey and falling) as well as my bladder(can't leave him alone to go potty when he's out)
He is quite the handful when outside, always looking for a way down.

I'll post pics when it's finished soon, just working on a door.:D

It's in his best interest

Although I think it's neat to have him cageless when outside, I'm discovering for many reasons, an enclosed space is better. So I wanted to share the nearly finished product, I just need to add some plastic plants on the walls, in corners, and on the roof. These serve as useful watering stations (with drippers above) and help to keep him off the walls, spending his time testing the strength of the enclosure. The plants have some growing to do but should fill in nicely.

Zip ties, Plastic 1"X3/4" plastic mesh, screen replacement kit, 16 disk magnets, and velcro cable ties. I kept them red as a visual reminder that the door is "locked".;)

Investigating the new digs. I think I will plant some alyssum, a mounding flowering ground cover, in the rectangular box. Should attract a variety of snack items.

Very nice! It looks great! I think I might do something like that for outside as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to tell what you used to make a great outdoor enclosure.

Thank you. The mesh (4'X50') was purchased at Lowe's for $20, cable ties both 8" and 4" were around $15 for 100 of each.:D 4" to attach to the mesh to the shelves and 8" to attach to the upright polls. There was some smaller mesh 1/2"X1/2" that could be used for a smaller chameleon I suppose. :)

After some use, I realized I can "unlock" one side of the velcro tabs and the other side acts like hinge. In addition, I used hot glue to glue my disk magnets to the door frame. I think I'll use a little JB Weld for a better hold. ;)

All in all I think it turned out well, and it's practical, easy to use, and serves it's purpose. However, I'm seriously considering building the full size shelving system and enclosing it to match his indoor enclosure. I already have all the supplies.

Next I'll pick up some mister fittings to install on the outdoor enclosure. I'll just flip the valve inside when I take him out.

Caesar updates and pics

With the warmer weather and regular trips outside Caesar has been quite restless lately. As well as amorous. Smirk..smile...laugh..or joke..but when my little buddy starts rubbing against me and lining up to do his business it's no holds barred preventing the red bandits from showing up.

Still on a staple feeder strike he's getting a bit thin. But the box from Mulberry Farms that came today sure sparked his appetite. :D

Morning Sun :)
