I made a post and I havent had replies yet, so Imma just make this one, I got my lil 2 month old Translucent Veiled Chameleon 4 days ago now. I placed him on a 65 gallon reptarium for now till I build his adult cage that will be 3x3x6. Tho again I would like you guys advice for now cuz this is my first cham of 2 months so I still find my self as a noob here on this area. So yeah I have been cup feeding him about 6 to 13 crickets a day, I suplemented with calcium and multivitans the second day I got him and today just gutloaded them and dusted them slightly with calcium. I water him 3 times a day, and maintain his humidity around 65 to 70. I have his enclosure for now with lots of branches and a umbrella tree where he have lots a places to hide and bask, his temps are from 70 to 80 around the colder parts of the cage and 85 to 90 near the basking area. Since I got him and placed him in it he has been walking around, giving me heart attacks cuz I freak out when I can see him, but he is just bright green so he blends with the plans perfectly XD, he drank water today and yesterday with no problems and also eats good, catches his food perfectly and all.

So I just want you guys oppinions to know if Im doing it right, cuz I have seen that lil chams require a bit diferent treatment from adults, so any advices are welcomed.

Thanks for reading and here a pic of him that I managed to get by geeting behind one of my outside of his cage plants and getting near :) CAM00388.jpg

All sounds good except maybe dropping basking temp down afew notches. If he is not gaping while basking, I would not worry too much about it. Do you see him drink? How long do you mist for?

He is just way past cute! I love the little guy.

Here are a couple things I would do different, but I have not had veiled in a few years, so I hope I correctly answer your concerns.

Your supplement schedule is a bit off. He needs calcium with out d3 in it about 6 times a week. He will need a multivitamin twice a month, and calcium with d3 twice a month. Most of us decide on a day of the week, then alternate the multivitamin and the calcium with d3 so he gets each twice a month. When you are dusting you want to make sure you have very, very lightly dusted the food.

He should be eating more than that. Are the crickets as small as he needs? You cup feeding him is great as you can know what he eats. You should offer all the cricket he will eat. Maybe just a few at a time so seeing all the crickets at once does not scare him.

Since he is so young I would not keep him temp up to 90 that seems high. maybe a top end of 85 would be better.

Misting 3 times a day is good, and seeing him drink is great. Is there a way you could give hime a dripper? That will give him access to drink when ever he wants. Even a paper cup with a tiny hole it is will work. Just make sure that the water has a place to go and doesn't just pool in this cage.

The plants are looking great, he seems to have every thing he needs for exploring his home.

If you look on the left side of the screen you will see Care Resources. This is a wonderful resource to answer your questions any time something comes up and you want to make sure you are doing it right.

Here is the link, and a care sheet written for veileds by an expert.

I right now I managed to move the basking light a bit away and its 84 to 85 as the digital temp marks, also yes I see him drink and I just took a cup and with a lil pin, made holes in the bottom and I fill it full and the water drops slowly maybe it take about 5 minutes to empty.

Also Im giving him pinhead crickets, so he can eat them easily, and I offer 8 in the morning offer at 1pm ish then at 5, and see him eat as much as he like then he travels away XD, also thanks for the Calcium and multivitamin sugestions I will apply them :)

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new baby. You don't need to maintain the humidity but allow it to peek to around70% three to four times a day allowing the viv to dry out between.:)
