ok si I decided to make my own thread as I’m posting the sticky. I’ve waited to post this to give my cham at least a day more to try to get him to eat so here goes good I give enough info,

Chameleon Info:
  • Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care.( Nosy Be Panther Chameleon, 8 months old, has been with me 5 months)
  • Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?(Only when he feels like coming out which is maybe 1 or 2 times a week)
  • Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders? (He eats crickets, supers, hornworms, about 8 large crickets, if supers he eats 6 large, if horn he only gets 2 a week as treats, he gets fed once a day around lunch time and gets treats throughout the day twice a day, I gutload with carrots, collard greens, mustard greens and occasional tangerine)
  • Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?( I use Reptivite w/d3, Heroivite Multivitamin, Reptivite w/o D3, schedule is Reptivite w/o D3 lightly dusted everyday and the other Reptivite with D3 once a month and Multivitamin once a month, I switch off by using one the beginning of the month and one at the end.)
  • Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?( I have a MistKing, He gets misted 5 times a day in two hour intervals for 4 minutes each, I do see him drink)
  • Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?( Droppings are dark brown and solid with mucus around then with pure white urates, no parasites ever)
  • History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you(Purchased from home Breeder at reptile expo)

Cage Info:
  • Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?( Jumbo screen enclosure from DIY CAGES)
  • Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?I have a white incandescent 80W for heat and a T8 tubular reptisun UVB bulb, lights in at 7:30 am and off at 7:30 pm)
  • Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps? (Temp bottom of cage is 70-72 and basking is 80-85 occasionally might hit almost 90, I use a temp gun)
  • Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?( Humidity is 70-85% I have live plants and frequent misting sessions, I use a humidity gauge)
  • Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?( I have two umbrellas plants and one big golden pothos)
  • Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor? ( Cage is in living room next to couch, not near fans or air vents, not much high traffic only me and my wife and my baby boy, it is 6-5” off my room floor)
  • Location - Where are you geographically located?( Fort Myers Florida)

Current Problem - Arctic is not eating or showing interest in food and I’ve tried everything from hornworms to supers to crickets and even silk worms, he drinks well and seems active and his grip is strong, no signs of bumps or bruises, climbs and explores and basks like normal. Poop is also normal. Hope you guys can help me out here I’m worried now. I held off on posting this for one extra day to see if he would eat.

Sounds like his appetite is slowing down. My almost two year old (time flies *tear drop*) only eats 3-4 times a week. Post a picture though just to be safe.

It does but what baffles me is he is not even a year old I’d think he would be scarfing down lots of food to get to that year mark then maybe slow down. My one year old veiled eats like he’s only 6 months old! I’ll get a pic.
