He is probably just stressed out and getting used to his new surroundings. It is normal and can take time. It is good he is eating because sometimes they will not eat right away. As far as hanging out under the basking light...he may just be cold. What are your overall cage temps, and what is your basking temp? Do you have a uvb light also?

Ye the temp is around 70 on the thermerstat and bulb is osrams 46 watts that is wot he came with dose he need more and he dose have a uv light two

Basking temp is showing 22.6c

oh my gosh that is only 71 degrees. No wonder why he is hanging out under that. He is cold and they will also become dark to absorb the heat. You need to get a regular white housebulb and bump that temp up to 85 or so. 70 is way too cold for a basking temp. He needs to heat to help him digest his food. Tell me what kind of uvb bulb you are using. Try different wattages of housebulbs to achieve the temp I told you. You may have to go with a 100 watt. How cold is it in your house? how old is the chameleon?

Oki doki thats what the woman i got him off had it set up at my house is all ways warm and uv bulb is 1.5 watt and make is as its on bulb just say reptile do i put house bulb in aswell

You need to answer all my questions so I can help you and help your chameleon. How old is your chameleon?. Do not know what a 1.5 watt uvb bulb is. If you have the incorrect bulb, your chameleon will suffer. You need a 5.0 UVB light. Yes, a housebulb will serve for a basking bulb. So you need two bulbs, one basking(uva) and one uvb bulb. Also, not to be nasty, but could you please check your spelling? I cannot understand a lot of the things you are saying.

Sori i find it hard to spell ok iv put up the temp on the heat switch to 85 and the uvb bulb is a 5.0 sorry im new to this and iv put a 100 watts bulb in

Good deal! You could even bump the temp up more if he is 2 years old. Can you post a pic of him and your set up? It would be very beneficial for us to see everything. Also, UVB lights should be changed out about every 6 months, 9 months max so if you don't know how old the bulb is you should get a new one to be on the safe side.

Hello sorry i didnt get back to you i went and got a new propa basking bulb wich is a 100w exo terra and the uvb bulb is wot you sed in the last post ye i can post set up can you tell me how to do it and when i put new bulb he is alot more active and bright and also i have orderd a mister fogger fing for him and iv got learning difficulties if thats how you spell it lol thanks for hellping me carol5280 :)
