Biggest enclosure size

Is the Extra Large Reptibreeze open air cage the largest available without going custom? Dimensions are 24X24X48. Haven't seen anything bigger

Dragon strand makes a large cage that is wider "The Atrium" is ~30wx18dx30h it comes with a clear side option.
Otherwise 24x24x48 is the largest standard cage I've seen.

I like the Exo Terra Large screen terrarium, its 36"x18"x36" and it comes with the removable substrate tray included which I most definitely find useful with my enclosures!

Both are good options^ the Dragonstrand large atrium is great for all, but the largest species (such as calumma parsonii). Free ranges, and custom built are also personal favorites foe keeping chams.

I have a male veiled chameleon. 6 months old and he is in the Large Reptibreeze now (18X18X36) and it is getting a little tight for him in there with all the plants and such. Hard to decide if the 24X24 or the 36X18 would be better

Bigger is better in my opinion. With my experience I've learned the more space, the happier the chameleon! Movment up and down is nice, but with also being able to move left to right seemed to improve behavior/personality.

Hmm so you'd be suggesting the 36X18 then? Sacrifice a little height for more width?

Yep, thats what I'd prefer, but to each is own. I'm not saying you'd be going wrong with the 24"x48". I'm just saying I did notice the little bit of sacrifice did make a difference. It was an experiment of mine because my first guy looked a little cramped and bored with just being able to climb up and down once he became a certain length in which I didn't get a cahnce to measure. He was between 7-9 months old when I upgraded him though.

Ok awesome thanks a lot everyone. I do think the width is a better idea because like you said, now that he's getting longer that's where I see most of the cramping is side to side movement.

Dragon strand

I just fell in love with this atrium. Only question, it says the clear side style is best for chameleons where only 2 sides are screen and the rest is a clear non glass material. I thought chameleons needed a full screen cage to work best?

The screen sides are enough to give it proper ventilation while retaining humidity. The clearside DS is pretty much the best money can buy. It's a myth that chameleons NEED all screen cages. It depends what climate you personally live and the main thing to be avoided are fish tanks due to the thicker glass. Some people use the exo terra glass terrariums with much success.

I have 3, but only using 1 atm to house my panther. Other will be for my parsonii while he's a baby. Not sure yet about 3rd lol

Lol awesome. I have a veiled but I really like the Panthers. Maybe once a buy a condo in a couple months and get out of the apartment I will get a new little guy. Thanks a lot for all the feedback I appreciate it

My last concern with the clear enclosure is it says to use distilled water only....the mistking misting system goes through a lot of water per day and I have regular tap water at my apartment. Seems like constantly buying distilled water will get very expensive
