Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon: About 8 and a half month old male veiled chameleon.
Handling: I try to handle him once in awhile. He will puff up and hiss but can be held.
Feeding: Eats well, up to 8 small dubia roaches a day around 3 o'clock right now(I'm trying to change to mornings). I have a colony of roaches that are fed ground almonds, sesame seeds, flax seeds, sunflower seeds; kale, collard greens, apples, and carrots.
Supplements: Exo terra calcium without d3 every feeding, Flukers calcium with d3 twice a month, exo terra multi vitamins about twice a month.
Watering: He has a monsoon mister going off for 2 minutes every 4 hours. His poo looks good, so I assume he's drinking.
Fecal Description: Normal looking black with a normal looking white urate. Never been tested for parasites.
History: Had him for about 4 months, don't really know his history before then.
Cage info:
Cage type: Screen Reptibreeze 48x24x24 inch. 3 sides are covered with plastic wrap to keep humidity in.
Lighting: One 10.0 tube zoomed UVB light. One exo terra 75 watt daylight basking spot bulb. Lights turn on at 7 am and turn off at 8:30 pm.
Temperature: Basking spot goes up to 95 degrees Fahrenheit. The rest of the cage stays around 75 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. I use two thermometers and 2 digital thermometers, and a humidity gauge and a digital humidity gauge. Night time temps can go to 65 degrees Fahrenheit at winter. Now, it's about 67 degrees.
Humidity: Stays around 50 percent. When misted it can go up to 80 percent for a couple hours.
Plants: I have some fake plastic vines and 2 live plants, an umbrella plant and a pothos.
Placement: Low traffic, It is located in my room about 2 and a half feet from my window, 3 feet off the ground.
Location: I'm located in Eastern Washington. Hot summers, cold winters.
He is also currently on his last few days of medication from MBD. So much better then he used to be!
Problem:
I've noticed for about 2 weeks now that his right eye seems to be unresponsive. Both of his eyes look pretty normal, the right one though might be a little more opened up? If I wave my finger in front of it, nothing. He moves it around as if he is using it to see though. The left eye is just like normal, uses it to look at me etc. Basically, to see me, he has to turn around to me if his right eye is facing me, to see me with his left eye. This also seemed to start to happen after he had shed stuck on the eye for about 4 days, and after some help, it came off. So, in conclusion, it seems he cant see out of his right eye. Any ideas? (The first two pictures are the problem eye, the second one is the normal one.)
