so my lil girl is a 7 month old veiled cham,
I noticed about a week ago Lupita has started showing this almost reddish brown while she sun tans...
Is this common with veiled chams cause when i search for other veiled scale babies that display the same or similar colors i can't find many, maybe about 3 or 4 other veiled's fro google or here on the forums.
Some people say it is just a phase and i am almost %98 sure she is not growing any egg's in her lil tummy just yet.

this is her when she isn't displaying that reddish brown
forgot to mention that she doesn't do it all the time, she will alternate from tanning with her brownish color and then she will show a much darker green to soak in the sun rays other times

this is the only pic i have of her while she is dark and annoyed (was her first day home with me) took it last month.
she also has only turned all black & brown once, when i took her out of the cardboard carry box and gave her a little mist shower to help shed all that dry skin off (I kinda caught her off guard)
but she has never displayed all black & brown since, she is also fine being handled.
i think the balcony with a nice view really helped mellow her down cause after about 22 days past she started letting me place my hand near her and and kinda of escort her to the open door before getting on my hand to come out.

A lot of reptiles darken when trying to absorb heat. This is especially common in arid species like Bearded Dragons. While I've never observed on of my Chameleons doing such, I would not be at all surprised if this was the reason.

That is a relief, i wanted to triple check to make sure it wasn't something i over looked while researching.
And it was sunny but the wind was a bit chilly that day i took her out to sun tan/photo shoot lol,
so your probably right. :D :D

When my Chams (all panthers) are trying to bask they get darker, sometimes they're like this when they're too cold too or after a meal. It's normal no worries.

my male veiled cham gets darker when it's windy outside and he doesn't have anywhere to get out of the wind. usually he's bright yellow and greens. could be he's just a princess too (y)

haha i bet you are right about them being spoiled lil princesses lmao :ROFLMAO:
the weather is grey and cloudy today and she is giving me alot of attitude, i noticed last week she got really short tempered when it was cold & raining out, so i know what to expect from my "princess" when there is no sun out haha

my guys hide so to speak in certain spots in their homes when they can see foul weather outside through the window.

after about 3pm she get's bored and will let me take her out for a while,
I don't think she has ever seen the outside for her first 6months of life cause i got her from a petsmart that had her in the back cause she outgrew the glass display boxes they had her in.
