Just wow!
This is really cool. I love how you set up everything. I can't wait to see how it all looks once it's finished.

Thanks i plan on expanding his F/R along the rest of the wall. ill keep posting pics as the project moves on.

If you don't mind me asking, what is F/R again? You should make a video or something explaining this because what you are doing is great! When I move out to my new place, I want to do something like this for my cham and get him a bigger cage.

F/R is freerange. Pretty much just chameleon keeping without a cage. In my opinion much nicer than keeping them in a screen cage but a little tricky if you are letting your chameleon stay out 24/7 wich is pretty much what ive been doing the past week. He really doesnt want to go back in his screen cage but ive tried to chameleon proof his F/R set up right now so he doesn't get hurt or into trouble.

Yeah I get you but it is coming out great! Keep up the great work. I can't wait to see when its finished. Again please post a video explaining everything and if you can how you built it. I really want to do something like this!

That is soo cool! How did you do that?

The bamboo hut was super easy to make. U can just get bamboo from Michael's arts and craft, or maybe an A.C.Moore. Then i cleaned it and made sure there was nothing on there that could harm the chameleon and cut it down to whatever sizes you want. Last step was puting it all together with some hot glue.

I'm new to the forum and idk how to post up videos. But i deff will make one soon explaining how i did the entire setup.

Or that too! You could always post on youtube. That sounds easy. I might try it out if I decide to do a F/R area for my chameleon. My little guy arrives in about 9 hours. I am so excited!! He is my first chameleon too

Looks good! One word of caution though, make sure your heat lamp has a screen over it. One of the members here just went through a horrific accident when her Cham's tongue hit the bulb and is now possibly losing all of his tongue. So in case you had not read that thread I wanted to bring it up as a pre cautionary measure.

Already on it. I thought about putting a screen cage around the heat bulb but decided it wouldn't look very good. BUT I am working on a screen top canopy where i can hide the heat lamp and uv from sight while also preventing Socrates from climbing up there and getting into trouble. I previously had a 75 watt heat emitter and watched him sometimes reach up for it to climb higher. Now recently switched to 150 watt for this exact reason, to get more distance between him and his heat source.
Chams don't see the danger in reaching up and hugging a heat lamp thats @
100+ thats why we have to be sure to chameleon proof everything for them and keep them out of trouble. But soc's safety is @ the top of my list on this project i made sure that in worst case (knock on wood) he fell from his area he would have a way to climb back up to his heat source and i made sure all cables were tucked away or completely out of his reach. I've also chameleon proofed all electrtical outlets aroun the room so he doesn't try sticking his mittens in them.
Thank you very much for the warning. I've got the day off today and am running to home-depot to get my supplies. I will be sure to post pictures when its done so other people freeranging their chameleons can also use this idea.

It's all really awesome. I love how it looks awesome for him as a climber and really nice visually too! So colorful and I like the black background. I would love a video too like others have said. I am work on building an area for my boy. :)

Thank you but I am nowhere near finished I've still got the entire left side of the wall that has to be covered in branches, vines, flowers, leaves, and bamboo.

Once I finish the screen and cover for Soc's heat lamp im going to have to move a few things around in his set up. That's when ill make the video and show exactly how I mounted everything to the wall. :)
