i have a senegal and he is pretty big he is about 1 year old how big of a cage should he have and does anyone have an outdoor cage for their chameleon and how did you build it
I give my chams the largest cage I can fit in the space I have indoors. A minimal cage for an adult Senegal (IMHO) would be 2'x2'x4' tall.
Do a forum search for outdoor cages and I'm sure you'll come up with all sorts of ideas. If you are just going to use it for occasional basking in nice weather you can get a bird cage at a garage sale (make sure he can't get his head through the bars), or make a simple cover for it out of window screen so he can't find a way to escape. Put some foliage inside so he feels secure.
