Camiezone babies from Homer and Big Girl

Bert was so spooked out by hornworms. I kept offering smaller and smaller…like…comically small hornworms. He eventually decided to eat one. Now he eats any hornworm haha
Bolt fired up at a baby hornworm for 2 weeks. Now, hornworms beware cause Bolt is a on the prowl. He just ate grasshoppers immediately. His first day with me, I greeted him with 5 baby grasshoppers, 3 silkies and 2 hornworms. He immediately ate the hoppers and did not touch the worms. So I gave him 5 additional crickets which he gobbled down. Take a video of Bert's reaction. Bert is older so he might question this new thing.

Since they’re so clean, big, and hardy I wondered if I could just go straight to grass hoppers instead of smelly short-lived crickets? But grasshoppers have a harder exoskeleton, right? And I don’t think they will eat Repashy bug burger, cricket crack, or other prepared gut load foods like a cricket will. Just leafy greens?

I haven't tried bug burger. I gut load with fresh food. Mustard /collard Greens, dandelion greens, carrots, fruit. It's actually what the grasshoppers eat to survive. The exoskeleton is a bit harder but perfect for Chams. Just make sure the grasshoppers are the right size. If I have grasshoppers,I don't feed crickets. That's y I'm breeding my own.

And it takes 10 months for them to hatch? Jeez that’s a long time. I may get a small Reptibreeze enclosure for them. What do you use

It only takes 10 months if you allow them to go through diapause/overwinter. But I'm keeping them at 85degrees year round. 🤣I'm fooling them to believe it's summer.

Oh wow so how long does it take to hatch nymphs from the Time the eggs are lain?
I'm not sure but I have had eggs hatch from my feeders. I use a heat lamp with my feeder grasshoppers. After I've had my feeders over 30 day, I find baby hoppers in the bin. I told @SauceGandhi about it. 🤣 I'm so sold on grasshoppers. The care alone has me hooked and because they are bigger, I feed my Chams fewer feeders. 1 grasshopper = 2 crickets. And did I say grasshoppers don't smell.
