Camiezone babies from Homer and Big Girl

Someone recommended I call my local garden center about purchasing a praying mantis. That call didn’t pan out but got me a referral to a local arboretum. Gardeners apparently love mantids for natural pest control and release them on their properties. So cool! I called my local arboretum and asked if they can put me in touch with anyone who has them. No one had eggs but one person had an actual praying mantis! They were going to keep it as a pet but decided to let it go when I offered $30.00. That’s what I’m seeing then online for, not including shipping. WOWWY WOW WOW!

Also if you want to know why we don’t feed wild caught praying mantis, check out this video of the horse hair worm parasite crawling out of a mantis….

Imagine those in your chameleon’s intestinal tract.

Saw this before and good point bringing it up 👍🏻

I just ordered 50 from @sauceghandi and can’t wait to get them!
Ive been ordering fron @SauceGandhi almost a year.
Your Cham and you will love grasshoppers. They live for over 30 days, no water or cleaning needed, easy to gut load and best of all they make no noise. 1 or 2 might die but even thats rare. When I buy 60 crickets at least 15 -20 die within 3 days. I'm at the pet store 3 times a week, ugh. I remove the legs because my Veiled does not chew. He's a gulper. For Bolt I remove the legs because they are bony and I don't want him to choke, although he is a chomper! Be mindful of wing size until your cham is comfortable eating. Once again, my veiled almost choked due on to the grasshopper having large wings and his preference to skip chewing. So I trim the wings for my veiled but for Bolt, I feed him nymphs so they only have wing pads. So wings are not a concern.

I will definitely trim the legs. I purchased “medium” so I’ll see if my veieled and panther like them. Otherwise I’ll have a colony of pet grasshoppers haha

I don't think that will be an issue.
These seem to be a Cham favorite. My Viled will pick a grasshopper over a hornworm.
