Can anyone help me figure out what to do?

Hi I have a veiled chameleon about 5 months and I can't figure out what is wrong with my chameleon. A few days ago his eye looked weird and today I was checking on him and it was crusted shut. He is eating but not as much as he should be and he seems kind of weak. I'm thinking that I need to take him to a vet to get medicine and to see if something is seriously wrong but I thought to try posting here to see if anyone could help. (Attached is a picture of his eye)

Hi @leahd. Welcome to the forums. I’m sorry your Cham isn’t doing well, but I’m glad you came here for help. There’s some great keepers here that hopefully can help.
Your poor little guy does not look good right now. I would definitely try to get an appointment with an experienced reptile vet as soon as possible

Health issues can have complex causes so it will be helpful to know more about your chameleon and it’s care. If you can fill this out with as much detail as you can, it may help people give recommendations on things that may help with your cham’s health

How to ask for help

Chameleon Info:

• Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
• Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
• Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
• Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
• Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
• Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
• History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:

• Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
• Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
• Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
• Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
• Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
• Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
• Location - Where are you geographically located?

Your he might be a she too.. Can you share pics of the back feet so we can check for spurs (male) or none (female).
The infection is most likely secondary issues so we have to back track a little...
The vet will get you going in the right direction.. Act quickly like yesterday..

Plus! Note 2 is important: add pictures of enclosure and supplies so others can help get things up to speed.

I'm also pretty sure that's a female judging by the patterns on its sides.
